June Pride Month in a Pink Tutu in Lowestoft

Lowestoft's Got a New Tutu Queen! Celebrating Pride Month in Pink!

Hey everyone, it's your girl Emma here, back with a blog post dripping in more sparkle than a disco ball after a glitter bomb exploded in it. This time, it's all about June, that beautiful, beautiful month we call Pride Month. And guess what? I'm embracing it in the most Emma-tastic way possible - a pink tutu!

You guys know I love pink, right? Like, LOVE IT! And what's more fitting for a Pride Month celebration than a vibrant pink tulle masterpiece? Nothing, that's what! Now, I know you might be thinking, "Emma, a tutu in Lowestoft? Seriously?" But trust me, it was epic! And the best part? This isn't just about my love of tutus; it's about showing my unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community, my beautiful friends and fellow human beings who deserve all the love and acceptance in the world.

Okay, let's rewind a bit. It was a beautiful Saturday morning, and Lowestoft was already buzzing with excitement for the annual Pride festival. The air was electric with rainbow flags, upbeat music, and the scent of delicious food stalls. I had already made a promise to myself – I was going to rock a tutu, and I was going to rock it hard. So, naturally, I raided my dance bag, picked out my absolute fave - a blush pink masterpiece with a hint of silver glitter – and popped it on!

There I was, tutu shimmering in the sunshine, feeling like a freaking fairy princess (but you know, a sparkly, fierce fairy princess who could totally slay a cha-cha). I knew this was going to be an unforgettable day.

Right away, people started stopping me for photos. Every picture, every smile, every little moment was pure magic. I even found myself performing a tiny improvised dance routine for a group of children who were captivated by my pink glory. It was amazing! We all giggled and twirled, spreading pure joy and reminding everyone that Pride isn’t just about marching; it's about celebration, it's about living authentically, and it's about having a little bit of fun along the way.

My adventure through the festival was filled with vibrant energy. I watched amazing drag performances, enjoyed live music from some super-talented artists, and learned so much from the stalls highlighting the vital work of LGBTQ+ charities. Every single conversation, every interaction, just confirmed what I already knew - we are stronger together, and celebrating diversity is essential for building a truly inclusive and joyful world.

The whole atmosphere was electrifying. Everyone seemed so happy and relaxed. This festival wasn't just a parade of colours, it was a genuine expression of unity and support. People were finally able to be their true selves, and the happiness was contagious. I felt it in my bones, in every step I took, in every laugh I shared. It was beautiful to witness this outpouring of love and acceptance. And seeing how enthusiastically people were celebrating their identities was simply heartwarming.

As the day went on, the crowds gathered for the main stage performance. There was a sense of anticipation in the air. This was a night of magic, where different acts showcased the unique talents of our LGBTQ+ community. And guess who made a little cameo appearance? That's right, your favourite pink tutu-clad ballerina!

While I didn't dance a full routine, I definitely did a couple of impromptu pirouettes during one of the acts, getting the audience cheering. It's not every day you see a tutu on stage, right? I love shaking things up and adding a bit of my signature Emma flair to every occasion.

As the sun dipped low in the sky, and the festival came to an end, I felt a rush of emotion. The feeling of accomplishment and joy was palpable. I realized that, even though I was just one person, a tiny spark of glittery pink joy, I played a part in making someone's day brighter, someone's life more vibrant, and someone's world more accepting.

My #tututuesday and #tutupride adventures taught me so much more than just the importance of pink tutus in life (though they are incredibly important). It reminded me that we can all be the change we want to see in the world. That a simple act of expression, a flash of pink tulle in a sea of rainbow, can speak volumes.

It reminded me that celebrating Pride isn't just about a month, it's about a way of life. It's about being ourselves, authentically and with pride, every single day. And maybe, just maybe, a little pink tutu might just help inspire others to do the same!

Love always,

Emma xx
