Dancing on Clouds: The New Season Starts
The Kirkby Ballet Theatre is about to embark on its Spring Season with a spectacular triple-header that'll leave you spellbound! The Nutcracker is back for a limited run – that sugar plum fairy scene, don't get me started! – and there are two new pieces. "I heard whispers of a gorgeous contemporary piece, 'Whispers of the Wind', choreographed by a rising star, Emily Jones. And for those who love a bit of glitz and glam, 'The Great Gatsby' is sure to be an absolutely breathtaking showcase. The sets alone sound positively dazzling! I hear a certain shade of pink may make an appearance... just sayin' 😉
Kirkby’s Dancing Delights: More Than Just Pointe Shoes
Now, hold your horses, my darlings! The Kirkby Ballet Theatre is more than just a place for pointe shoes and perfect arabesques. There's a fabulous class for every level. 🤸 And if you're looking to get your twirl on, 'Ballerina Baby' classes are perfect for little ballerinas just starting their dance journey. Those adorable mini tutus are just the cutest, wouldn't you say? 😍
And speaking of cute... you won’t believe this, but ‘Dance & Sparkle' workshops are taking Kirkby by storm! I mean, seriously, a workshop called that? This is exactly why we're all here, right?!
These workshops focus on incorporating glitter, sparkles, and all things beautiful into ballet practice. Think stunning fairy makeup, gorgeous flower crowns, and even a sprinkle of pixie dust (it’s a Kirkby Ballet Theatre secret, I promise!).
A Haven For Aspiring Tutu Wearers
Speaking of workshops, a few weeks ago, I had the absolute pleasure of attending a ‘Tutu Making’ workshop with the incredible dancers from the 'Ballerina Belles' dance school. Let me tell you, it was tutu-licious! We went from flimsy tulle scraps to breathtaking ballet creations. If you’ve got any budding fashion designers or even just aspiring dancers in your family, these workshops are a must! 🪡
Spring Bloom & Tutu Blooms
Okay, I’m really going all out with the floral references now, I know, but who can resist a spring bloom? Like a beautiful rose opening its petals to the sunlight, 'The Blooming Studio' is in full swing! They’ve expanded their facilities with a stunning new dance studio, equipped with all the latest gear – a dream come true for any serious dancer. It even has its very own mirrored wall (which, naturally, has the most fantastic pink lighting!). I've been dropping by for classes myself, and let’s just say that the inspiration is practically buzzing! ✨
