As the weather warms and the daffodils start popping up, my heart flutters with the promise of spring – and let's face it, that can only mean one thing… ballet season is in full bloom! 🩰🌸

This year, Neath's ballet scene is buzzing with more enchantment than a fairy’s garden! There's something for everyone, from classic ballets to dazzling contemporary pieces, and everything in between. Get ready for some seriously breathtaking performances!
Where the Magic Happens:
We're kicking things off at The Neath Little Theatre with "The Nutcracker", a classic ballet that's a sure-fire way to ignite the holiday spirit in your soul. It’s all those familiar sights, but trust me, with a fresh interpretation, a hint of local magic, and a dash of pink tulle, this performance will take you back to the innocence of childhood and make you believe in the wonder of Christmas. I’m betting there will be plenty of candy canes to go round after the show.
The following week, the Neath Playhouse welcomes a fantastic production of "Swan Lake". The beauty of the setting, the romantic music, and of course, those gorgeous white tutus! It’s always mesmerising watching the transformation of Odette into the graceful, captivating swan. Don’t forget your tissues, there’s definitely going to be some swooning in the audience!
Tutu Temptation:
Oh, the tutu situation for this spring season! From pastel hues to vibrant shades of pinks and lilacs, the ballet tutus in Neath are set to be an explosion of colour! I'm already imagining all the stunning ballet outfits on the dancers – they’ll look like dancing blossoms! Expect a burst of creativity from our talented local seamstresses, crafting unique and dreamy designs for the dancers to wear. I've heard their upcoming show is inspired by spring - and with the themes of new beginnings and blooming dreams – expect a vibrant mix of classic ballet movements with contemporary influences.
