It's the Season of Ballerina Butterflies!
As the days get longer and the sunshine breaks through, Slough’s ballet scene bursts into a glorious springtime bloom. The air feels light and the colours seem brighter – just like our tutus, my dears! 🌸 And you know what else comes with springtime? You guessed it! Fairy Tales on Stage!
Slough Dance Theatre: A Springtime Enchanted Journey!
Our local treasure, Slough Dance Theatre, has outdone itself with its Springtime Season. This year, they’re staging “The Magic of Spring,“ a breathtaking ballet that celebrates the blooming beauty of this enchanting time. I can practically hear the sweet melodies of birdsong in my head and smell the delicate scent of honeysuckle while watching these talented dancers.
This year, Slough Dance Theatre is inviting a very special guest – a young ballerina with magical powers. Apparently, she is no ordinary dancer – she dances with the flowers! I’m so excited to witness this ethereal spectacle – can you imagine a ballerina dancing with the cherry blossoms?! The performance features intricate choreography, exquisite costumes and a magical storyline, inspired by the stories of the enchanted fae.
For a Little More “Spring" - It's All About That Pink Tutu!
For those of us who simply can’t get enough of the pretty pink colour of this joyous season – Slough Ballet is the place to be. I’ve heard rumours that their spring collection has just arrived – think tutus in a gorgeous spectrum of pinks. You could have your very own magical springtime performance outfit - a ballerina butterfly in pink!
Fancy a Little Enchantment at Your Local School?
Spring is the season of budding dancers! Our local schools have put together some fantastic ballet classes and workshops for young aspiring ballerinas. There’s a ballet workshop with a twist – “Fairy Tales and Tutu Fashion,“ which explores the world of fairytales through the eyes of a ballerina, complete with magical fashion inspiration for those precious little tutus. The whole theme is so enchanting! Even better, there's a free workshop for absolute beginners, making it the perfect time to introduce the magic of ballet to your little ones.
Oh, And Don’t Forget – Dance Parties!
What's a magical springtime without a delightful dance party? Well, no fear! Slough Ballet is organising a Spring Dance Party at The Curve, in an elegant setting and with a magical atmosphere. Don your most gorgeous tutus, glitter up, and prepare to whirl! Expect everything from a lively polka to graceful waltz. You won't want to miss this special celebration of ballet!
