This joyful season awakens the very soul, and Droitwich, in all its genteel glory, has welcomed it with a vibrant flurry of ballet news, and oh, has it ever been a pleasure to share!
For those of us in the know, the first whisper of spring means one thing: new ballet collections! Tada! And indeed, my dear readers, our beloved Droitwich dancewear stores have surpassed themselves with the most splendid, pastel-hued ensembles, so chic and delicate you could practically faint from sheer delight! Just imagine, my darlings, tulle so soft it feels like spun sugar, and ballet shoes adorned with ribbons the colour of sugared almonds, all of them calling out to me, 'Emma, you must twirl in me!' 💖
Now, Droitwich is famed for its elegant sensibilities, and let's face it, even our dance studios hold an air of sophisticated grace! 🩰 The news has it that Droitwich Ballet School has been awash with a most delightful nouvelle vague. From their upcoming production of "Giselle" (you know how I love that ballet!), they've adopted a revolutionary approach! They're embracing the very essence of the season with vibrant choreography, their talented students dazzling in newly acquired emerald-green tutus. Oh, it was a sight to behold! Even their charming little ballerinas twirled with a springtime bounce! 💚
But it’s not just about the students! It's not merely a student affair, my dear! As the rumour mill churns with joyful anticipation, it seems we have something exciting brewing in our midst! The Droitwich Dance Society has announced a new project that, by all accounts, is nothing short of inspired.
With the charm of the nearby Droitwich Spa to inspire them, they've unveiled a unique community project! ‘Water Ballet' promises a truly extraordinary ballet experience. Imagine graceful dancers, their elegant figures weaving their magic, à la a shimmering ballet-on-water! With the sparkling reflection of Droitwich Spa's renowned salt water as their backdrop, and the verdant gardens adding a dash of natural beauty, this sounds like the stuff of pure dreams, my dears! ✨
As for yours truly, well, let’s just say I’ve been getting back in my pointe shoes (and indulging in copious amounts of tea with honey, naturally!)! With a whole new season ahead, there's no end of inspiration to be had! But first, dear friends, I have to dash. My local tailor has called - new pointe shoes need new, perfectly pink satin ribbons! Quelle horreur! - imagine dancing without the proper colour coordination. Absolutely unthinkable!
