London's Delicate Delights: Ballet in Bloom! πΊ
Oh, darlings, how utterly delightful to welcome spring with a renewed spirit of grace and, of course, the absolute joy of ballet! πΈ As a mere creature of fashion (and a dancer, of course!) I can't help but be inspired by the season's delicate shades and the vibrant blossoming of the city itself. But as we're firmly in the midst of a truly fabulous ballet season, I thought it was only right to share some thrilling "tutu-worthy" happenings that are filling the air with artistry and charm!
Oh, how the Ballet Blossoms!
If you, like me, simply adore a bit of pink, then the Royal Opera House is definitely where your heart should be this month. The "Spring Symphony" has been absolutely bursting with all things pink and floral, just perfect for this time of year! The Royal Ballet has put on a stunning, almost whimsical, production, full of exquisite choreography, a breathtaking set and some beautiful pastel-hued costumes. The opening was absolutely divine. It reminded me of stepping into a floral tapestry, only much more alive! But you must hurry, as the season is coming to a close, only a few shows left... sniff, sniff.
En pointe with English National Ballet
Now, I'm known for being quite the "ballet-ophile" (don't worry, I didn't invent the term, though it sounds absolutely darling, doesn't it?) and so I simply must share my adoration for English National Ballet's latest production! I couldn't resist sharing my thoughts on their beautiful "Giselle" which took my breath away. Imagine, if you will, the haunting beauty of a forest at twilight... perfectly captured on the stage. The sheer elegance of the choreography had me sighing in wonder throughout the entire performance. And oh, the dancing! Absolutely exquisite! There are still some tickets left - it would be most delightful if you could join me there... or, at least, let me hear all about it.
Where to find your perfect Tutu!
Now, the question on all our minds, is where can one find the perfect ballet inspired fashion to wear for the most glamorous evening at the opera? Well, look no further than London itself! You, like myself, may have discovered the joys of Liberty and their exquisitely floral designs (I mean, it just screams Spring!) The Silk Garden will have you feeling like a Victorian-era ballerina. Itβs such a lovely, charming place with delicate floral prints and pretty pastel colours that make one feel almost romantic - especially with all that exquisite lace. The colours are a bit like those in "Giselle"... simply ethereal, I say!
A Little Slice of Heaven in Mayfair
Now, no one can really talk about fashion and elegance in the Springtime without mentioning the utterly fabulous Royal Academy of Dance's "Fashion Ball", which, just like a fragrant bloom, arrives this May, nestled in the heart of Mayfair. The anticipation is as delightful as the first blush of springtime, dear reader. It is a truly enchanting event and an absolutely unmissable chance for us ladies to get together and bask in all things chic and fabulous, while supporting an excellent cause at the same time. The Ball itself is said to be utterly delightful with champagne and a whole host of exciting attractions - not to mention the fantastic "Dress to Impress" opportunity!
And Finally, for the budding "Danseuse"
Don't let your "inner ballerina" languish, my dears. I recently took a trip out to the gorgeous Ballet Central and was simply blown away by their beautiful program of classes for both budding and established dancers! I myself was almost tempted to throw on my old pointe shoes and have a go... (the lure of the stage, you see) They are dedicated to fostering a love for ballet and the pursuit of excellence in everyone who comes through their doors. This place just makes me want to pirouette across Mayfair!
And so, my dear darlings, I say "good day" for now and will return with further fashion and ballet adventures very soon. Remember to let your spirits soar as the flowers and ballet continue to bloom around us. Now off I go to rehearse - a certain "choreography" is calling... I just cannot get enough of ballet, you know? π Until next time, my dears... #tutunews
