Oh darlings! What a day, what a glorious day for the art form that is ballet! I just can’t contain my excitement; tutus have become... well... they’ve become "in" darlings, let’s be frank about it, in! What's next, we're all gonna be wearing feather boas out to the shops? Perhaps, perhaps! Well, maybe that’s too far-fetched even for this delightful fashion moment we’re all witnessing right now, isn’t it? However, darling, let’s just say, tutus are having their moment. You heard it here first, ladies!
Oh my! I have received such an outpouring of fabulous phone calls and emails from friends and readers alike, you wouldn’t believe. Apparently, there’s a rather charming event taking place this afternoon at the Covent Garden, something to do with "The Nutcracker." Oh dear, now I'm feeling a tad passé. Not so familiar with all that old-school ballet fare; I’m afraid you’ve got to bring me something a bit more modern, with some real panache and that "I don’t even have to try" aura you know what I mean darlings?
But wait! Hold the presses, my dear readers! I must confess, my dear old Auntie Beatrice called just before I sat down to write this delightful exposé, telling me all about the wonders of "The Nutcracker." "A must see dear!" She proclaimed, as I'm sure we all know Auntie Beatrice, never wrong, ever the fashion maven!
The call made me realise, darling, how much I'm missing out, living as a dedicated fashionista in this ever-evolving city of ours! And guess what? The Covent Garden folks are staging something rather thrilling; "A Tutu Takeover," darling, that's what they're calling it!
Can you imagine? All these glorious ladies parading around the Covent Garden, with their legs in those exquisite stockings, a touch of silk around the waist, a fabulous pair of stilettos! Oh, I'm just giddy at the thought. Just imagine the outfits!
Imagine…- The most perfect shade of blush pink tutus. A whisper, a soft murmur of ballet and silk; such feminine exquisiteness!
- Black leather jacket with those fabulous, oversized, heart-shaped glasses we've been seeing everywhere, with a cheeky little ballerina-inspired tutu peeking out! The perfect chic, street-ready ballet look!
- Just a dash of colour darling. Think, ruby red! Think, turquoise blue! Oh my, the glamour!
And what's a Tutu Takeover without a delicious tea and cake session? Of course, darlings, I must be at this event, if I could, I would write it myself!
