Tutu and Ballet News

Darling readers,

Gather round, my lovelies, and let’s have a little chat about tutus, shall we? Because, darlings, I’m absolutely positively **devastated**! Yes, **devastated** is the only word for it. I mean, how could they? **How dare they?!**

It appears that this Tuesday, the 31st of March, is officially designated “Tutu Day”.

And honestly, while I absolutely adore tutus and would wear one everyday if society allowed (which, let's be honest, they most definitely do not), I'm slightly offended, dears. Just slightly, I hasten to add. This isn’t a frivolous pursuit; this is **high art**. The pinnacle of the performance world! It’s not a cheap gag for a novelty day! This isn't a whimsical Wednesday! I am absolutely mortified. The **audacity**! It’s just **too much**! It’s giving “birthday clown,” which, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore, but let’s be realistic! A “Tutu Day”? Are we all 12-year-olds now? I need a stiff martini to get over this **outrage**!

Honestly, it makes my little tutu-loving heart hurt! Ballet, in general, deserves a **celebration** - every day should be tutu day, darlings! But it just makes the entire thing seem a little bit, well, silly!

Don’t get me wrong. There’s nothing I love more than a gorgeous tulle masterpiece - a majestic white tutu with all its layers (you know the ones that float so beautifully that it’s practically witchcraft, darlings!). Or maybe a little **pink**, or a classic **black**. Yes, a good black tutu can truly transform any woman into a divine ballerina! A timeless and stunning piece that every woman must own, I must say! It is practically essential! A ballerina’s essential garment for both stage and off. It should be considered **essential** for any fashionable woman. I am **convinced** of it, and, if you love fashion like me, my dearest readers, you will be too. I am absolutely **positive** of it!

You know what? Let’s celebrate tutus properly. I mean, we all adore the little floaty gems! How about, on this supposed **Tutu Day** we, you know, get dressed up in our favourite fabulous tutus? Go out and do something delightful - something, that we feel like we’ve all had the **right** to do but haven’t been **allowed** to? For example…

  • Have a **picnic** with the most exquisite picnic basket and the most spectacular sandwiches you can find, and of course, bring the finest vintage champagne with you! All of this done with a fantastic tutu!
  • Or we could all dress up like fabulous, elegant ballerina swan, just as all the swans do on the most magical night! All the elegance in our most favourite tutus - don't worry! We all own at least **one**. It's like the essential ballet must-have in our wardrobes. It’s a given, dears. Go **all out**, wear it to the theatre! Don’t worry about judging eyes, we all are beautiful swans on a mystical and fantastical stage!
  • A visit to the local ice-skating rink in our tutus might **really make an impact**. Go to a local skate rink in your very **most special tutu**.

But whatever we do, let’s keep it **sophisticated** - something special for a tutu to make even the **silliest day** an enchanting affair!

And yes, darling, you may not have ballet training. But, I believe everyone has an **inner ballerina**, waiting for a little moment of magical inspiration to truly shine! Oh, and you can never go **wrong** with a tutu and ballet. You just have to look **fabulous**. That's what we do!

Let’s leave the “Tutu Day” in the hands of the **Gods** above - maybe we will all be granted another magical “Tutu Day”, I say! Maybe it'll happen soon! Fingers crossed!

Now, you must go find your favourite tutu! If you need help finding the right one, please, oh, please, feel free to email! And please share your gorgeous **Tutu Day** photographs on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and other lovely social media with me. I'd love to see! We can make this **fabulous**!

I remain, your dearest, devoted ballet, fashion and tutu lover.
