No more dreary rehearsals in those beige leotards and those awful, sensible tights, we're going full-blown, glittering, twirling glamor, darlings.
And where, oh where are we headed for this magical day? To the annual "Tutus on the Thames" gala, darling. Honestly, what a corking event! Hundreds of dancers from every corner of the globe (though mostly from Islington, let's be honest) descend on London's famous river, all dolled up in their finest, featheriest, most flamboyant tutus. The mere mention of it gets my pulse racing! We've been preparing for this moment all year, darling, and trust me, my darling tutu's been practicing its twirls and grand jetés with more enthusiasm than you can imagine. Imagine, hundreds of us, twirling our tutus, catching the sunlight, dancing with such elegance, such grace, such absolute... sheer unadulterated fabulousness. I just die, darlings.
Speaking of "sheer" , this year's tutu trend is all about, well, sheer. We're talking delicate layers of chiffon, wispy netting, and sparkly sequins that simply beg to catch the light, and yes, the slightest breeze. Don't worry, I've already ordered a pair of fancy knickers specifically for this event – it wouldn't do for my poor, private parts to be caught unawares!

There's a giant, floating tutu made of recycled plastic bottles. Honestly, what's more environmentally aware than that, eh?
But don't worry, darling, the heart and soul of the event, which is elegant, majestic, tutus are still at the forefront!
But before I go gushing any further, I need to get ready! I need to pick my perfect tutu, right? Of course, there's my timeless, classic tutu, with all those perfect pleats and frills. So elegant and ethereal... But, dear, wouldn't a little dash of sparkle go amiss? My other favourite, a bejeweled confection of glittery pink tulle. Now, that's something truly eye-catching! And what about a little whimsy, darling? There's my beautiful tutu made from iridescent green and purple satin, just the right touch of rebellious sparkle and an unforgettable dash of glamour! Now, darlings, tell me, what will it be? Oh the agony, it's so difficult to decide.You see, darling, there are really so many factors to consider when choosing the perfect tutu: the theme of the event, my mood, and...most importantly, the colour of my tights.
Darling, the weather forecast says "bright sunshine." And that, my dear, means it’s time to whip out those bright orange tights, don’t you think?
