Tutu and Ballet News

Oh, darlings, what a day! August 6th, 2001, a day for the ages! I'm still giddy with excitement, as I'm sure are all my fellow ballerinas, and I know, for certain, that the entire dance world is positively quivering with joy! Why, you ask? Because, **the heavens opened up today, and bestowed upon us a gift more precious than diamonds, more divine than a perfectly executed triple pirouette, and even more thrilling than a front-row seat at the Bolshoi! ** You guessed it, dear readers, it was **TUTU DAY!!!**

Now, I know what you’re thinking, "Isn’t every day a celebration of the tutu, dear?" And honestly, in the grand scheme of things, probably yes! But today was truly **exceptional! ** We woke up to a sky bursting with bright, **sunshine-yellow**, tutudrenched clouds! I swear, there were little tufts of pink, fluffy tulle swirling all around the horizon, a perfect reminder of how *very* special our beloved garment is! You could almost hear the swish, swoosh, and the gentle rustling of silk and netting, like the whispers of countless tutus through the ages.

Even the birds were in on it! My dear neighbour Mrs. Finch, she tells me she woke up to a cacophony of "Tutu-Tutu!" tweets, all sung with an unmistakable * joie de vivre*. Now, normally I don’t trust Mrs. Finch; she has an infuriatingly-over-sized chihuahua who has the nerve to try and intimidate my dear little Shih Tzu, but I’m certain in this case she's telling the truth. There's something truly *magical* about Tutu Day! Just seeing a little bird chirping in that specific way is sure to melt even the most hardened heart!

Speaking of *magic*, darling! Have you *heard* about the **Tutu Extravaganza** taking place in London? I'm simply buzzing with anticipation! It’s a parade with literally **thousands** of people dressed in tutus. I'm telling you, it will be spectacular! And the best part, they're not limiting themselves to the traditional, darling. They've got a whole category for **Tutu Creativity!** It’s basically a Tutu fashion show and everyone's trying to top each other’s designs. I’ve heard rumours about a Tutu made entirely of recycled teacups and another made of fluffy, fluffy, pom-poms. Just imagine, my darlings! The possibilities are limitless!

The London Tutu Extravaganza is about so much more than fashion, though! It’s about inclusivity, empowerment, and making a statement. We all need a little bit of tulle in our lives, don't we? It makes you feel confident, feminine, and ready to take on the world!

Just yesterday, my neighbour's little chihuahua was barking, looking menacing, in his very sophisticated little white-and-silver doggie coat! The audacity of it! But, guess what happened? My Shih Tzu decided she’d had enough. In an act of bold defiance, she pranced right in front of that furry tyrant, all three feet dancing in a dazzling scarlet and gold tulle skirt. Well, let me tell you, that chihuahua looked a little lost! Suddenly he seemed, dare I say, **petite!** And so, we know! Tutus truly are **weapons of mass inspiration! **

But let's not get carried away, my loves! There is one slight snag in all of this glorious tutu-ness! **This tutu magic isn’t always as lovely as it sounds. **

You see, it turns out that *some* people aren’t on board with this Tutu celebration! In fact, I received an anonymous message on my phone from someone saying they **loathed** all things tulle, referring to it as *frivolous* and *completely lacking in purpose* ! I tell you, they should've seen those birds tweeting their hearts out earlier today, all because of a bit of frivolous tulle! This is clearly just jealousy on their behalf, dear, it’s obvious. Those who hate tutus are either afraid of the sheer beauty they possess or are merely hiding a very un-ladylike dislike of *real* fashion, *real* flair. My little shih-tzu and her tutu know it. Mrs. Finch's twittering bird family knows it! I know it!

**We mustn’t be swayed by such hateful rhetoric, my darlings. **It’s a terrible shame! They've completely missed the point. Tutu Day is a symbol of empowerment! It's an invitation to celebrate, laugh, and dance with joy! It’s a symbol of the freedom we have to express ourselves through movement, style, and whimsy. Don’t ever be afraid to stand out. **The world is too drab and ordinary! **

I will end this blog by saying that if anyone finds my favourite tutu (it's a lavish lavender with black ribbon details and a very **sensational** layer of sequins! I believe the French designers call this a “couture“ design darling! You really have to wear this number if you’re planning to catch the eye of a certain someone, you see.), then do get in touch! This blog is in urgent need of new, shimmering images of all the spectacular, stylish ladies in their fabulous, fabulous, tutus! **Don’t you just adore the beauty of it all? Let me know your thoughts!**
