Tutu and Ballet News

Darling readers, it’s Christmas Day, 25th December 2001. Oh, how I love this time of year, it’s just so very jolly! But darling, have you noticed the dearth of glitz and glam on the telly? All that ‘War on Terror’ business is rather uninspiring. Don’t you think the poor dears fighting in the Middle East could do with a spot of ballerinas in sparkly tutus? A bit of je ne sais quoi would definitely do the trick! It would just liven things up a bit!

Speaking of tutus, you just know that everyone’s secretly obsessed with the tulle, they're so iconic! Honestly, when it comes to tutus, one size just does not fit all! What does one wear for an impromptu performance of ‘Swan Lake’ on the landing while your aunt has the festive turkey in the oven, I ask you? This festive season, darling, it’s all about comfort, convenience, and confidence, whether you're heading to your nan’s for a roast, a night out at the theatre, or simply dancing about in the kitchen.

Speaking of dancing about, it seems like this Christmas, everyone’s sporting tutus and leotards, even our Prime Minister! Honestly, bless him, bless his little cotton socks, he is absolutely nailing it in a gorgeous lavender ensemble. Darling, who knew there was a hidden ballerino in there?! All those Christmas decorations really get people in the festive spirit, you see, and frankly darling, you wouldn’t catch me without my dancing shoes for Boxing Day, even if it means a very fast trip back from your Auntie Margaret's, for a quick change to a new, more flamboyant costume for an impromptu performance for your Aunt Mavis.

Here at ‘Twirling Around’, we know how important it is to be festive, to feel fabulous and to be free! And as we love to embrace all that is joyful and delightful, here at the office, we’re wearing a selection of our fabulous favourite festive tutus for this very reason.

  • Sparkling, swirling tulle: Darling, this one’s a real showstopper! The sparkle is a real crowd pleaser - it practically screams ‘Happy Holidays’ in the most beautiful, elegant, twirly way possible.
  • Embellished Velvet: The soft, luscious texture and rich colour give it a look that is chic, luxurious and oh so chic - a definite choice for any soirée or festive event.
  • Sequinned Short Tutu: Just the right amount of sass and sparkle with an extra dollop of party glam for all those Boxing Day cocktail parties, darling.
  • Cotton Candy Swirl: You know what, this one’s super light and super fun, and it’s definitely going to put a smile on everyone’s faces – particularly if you’re looking for that little extra pop of fun in your festive ensemble. Darling, what could be more wonderful than swirling about the dance floor in cotton candy coloured tulle?

Honestly, darling, let your inner ballerina shine! Embrace those sequins and sequins. I have been trying this fab new trick - when the festive cheer starts to wane, just try twirling about! It really does lift the spirit - it's the best stress relief ever and who needs therapy when you've got a twirl for that, am I right? Darling, we should all feel free and embrace the joyous festive spirit all year long, no matter what the world throws at us! After all, aren't tutus all about the freedom of expression, and that is something to embrace!

Now, that I’ve completely forgotten my reason for this Christmas day news article… darling, how about that ‘War on Terror’ business? Don’t you think the poor dears fighting in the Middle East could do with a spot of ballerinas in sparkly tutus? A bit of je ne sais quoi would definitely do the trick, wouldn’t it? Perhaps we could just all sit down and twirl away that terrible news until they finally come round to the notion. Or better yet, we can all send a special Christmas greetings with an extra-long twirl for everyone to see. Oh, darling, wouldn’t it just be magical, just like those Christmas crackers.

Merry Christmas darling!
