Tutu-ing Around: The Rise of the Ballet-obsessed
My darlings, it's the 23rd of July 1996 and, darling, I'm feeling a bit tututious today! Now, don't you go mistaking me for a *ballet* enthusiast - oh no, darling, *that* wouldn't be me. But, oh, the tutu, darling, it's just such a *look*, wouldn't you say? So dreamy, so graceful, so utterly fabulous! A symbol of all things fabulous, yes? From the classic pink to the dramatic white, they truly encapsulate the quintessential *je ne sais quoi* of elegance, don't you think?
And you know what, lovelies, this whole *ballet* business, with all its twirls and jumps and… what was that thing they did, *chassé*? I can’t even! Oh, and *en pointe*, it's the height of chic! *Especially* when you see it up close and personal, *am I right*?
Speaking of *close and personal,* did you catch the fabulous Royal Ballet premiere this week, my darlings? The entire Covent Garden stage was positively alight! And, of course, all the men looked terribly *handsome* in their… what do they call those pants again? Something about a tight fit... *Leotards*? I do *adore* how they always get to show off their beautifully toned physique. *So envy-inducing!*
Of course, we *can't* talk about a *ballet* premiere without *talking* about the beautiful ballerinas. Absolutely magnificent! Their outfits, so chic! And that *swishy* tutu – you *know* it's been *custom-made*. Honestly, darling, there's nothing like it! I bet it took those talented dancers a *fortune* to create their custom *looks* - a girl's gotta have her *budget,* after all, darling! Especially with the new *spring/summer '96* collection by Dior launching *next week*. My *wardrobe* simply won’t allow itself to be seen in public with the same outfits twice this season, will it? Oh darling, I must have one of those pink tutus!
Honestly, though, *darlings*, we must talk about the practicality of all of this! One cannot, after all, live their *real* life in a tutu, unless you happen to be at one of *London's* trendiest dance studios! The new trend is "Balletcore" apparently, where we can indulge our inner swan! We wear those lovely leotards - I love a lovely leotard - or a tutu on top of our skinny jeans. Oh, my, I do love the new trend! Maybe even with a sparkly, new, oversized *tote* to carry all of our essentials - one simply must have *accessories*, after all, darling!
Darling, have you heard about *this* – this just might be *the* most incredible bit of news for the day! There's apparently this new *line* of leotards by some Parisian *designer*. Absolutely exquisite! And *get this*, they even do leotards in leopard print! Absolutely *amazing,* isn’t it? And oh my goodness! A tiny little bow attached, as a finishing touch! Well, one must have a *bow*, to accentuate one’s already incredibly glamorous, graceful curves!
Well darling, as much as I would love to chat on and on, about how the "Balletcore" fashion craze is about to engulf our entire lives (I just love a new trend to embrace, darling!) my phone is a-buzzing, and *that* is one signal that just cannot be ignored! Oh, my dear darling, I must be off to enjoy this utterly magnificent summer. But don't worry, love, I will definitely share *all* of my sartorial escapades with you soon.
