Tutues, Tutus, Everywhere! A Celebration of All Things Ballet

Darling, you know I adore a good ballet, don't you? So much twirling, so much grace, and let's not forget those sensational tutus. Well, get ready to shimmy, shake, and swirl because today, the 14th of November 1996, is officially being declared 'National Tutu Day'. And you know what? I’m more than ready to celebrate!

This brilliant day was created by my fabulous friend, Henrietta, you know, the one with the darling poodle and that killer collection of vintage Chanel? Henrietta’s a real vision, darling, a complete ballerina at heart. Her reasoning? To make the world a more whimsical place, of course, to get us all spinning with delight! And I have to agree with her completely, because frankly, the world could do with a whole lot more tutus, right?

Now, before we dive headfirst into a sea of tulle, let's have a little chat about our love of ballet, shall we? There’s a certain romance to it, a timeless elegance. Those lithe limbs leaping, pirouettes so precise, the delicate grace, and of course, the magic of the tutus. Every single fluttery, whimsical layer makes my heart sing, and I’m sure it’s doing the same to yours.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a seasoned dancer, or you just love to watch those lithe figures spin on stage. We can all appreciate a good tutu, can’t we? Oh darling, it’s an instant costume for dreams, it transforms a simple stage into a fairytale land!

Pink? White? Darling, we can't just have ONE!

There is a reason that the perfect tutu has become iconic in the world of ballet. A tutu is not merely a costume. It is a symbol, darling! A symbol of passion, of art, of pure expression!

Speaking of iconic, there is a real divide here. Pink or white? Well, I must be frank darling, they are both glorious. The white tutu has an ethereal elegance, whispering stories of swan queens and magical woodlands. It’s the epitome of pure, pristine beauty. The pink, though, oh my, it’s playful, vibrant, bursting with youthful charm!

Personally, I have to admit that I have a fondness for a pink tutu, with a touch of sparkling sequins. You know me, all for that extra touch of sparkle. Now, don't you judge my obsession with pink! We all have our faibles, don’t we darling?

Let's Dance to National Tutu Day!

So, here is what I propose to celebrate our dear, wonderful, National Tutu Day. How about we spread the love of the tutu around? A little tulle in the air to lift everyone's spirits? Think of it like this, a little dance in your heart!

How do we celebrate?

Ideas for National Tutu Day Fun: * **Take a Spin!** Grab your most cherished tutu (or the most ridiculously large tutu you can find!) and spin!

* **Tutu Themed Movie Night:** Curl up with some of the ballet movies (The Red Shoes? Black Swan? Just give me all the dancing and twirling!) and remember, it's never too early (or late) for a tutu!

* **Make It a Family Affair!** Let's encourage our littles ones to get a taste of the magic. The younger generation can spin in a simple fabric skirt or make a little DIY tutu. And let’s be honest, you never know, you might discover the next Margot Fonteyn or Mikhail Baryshnikov, darling!

* **Embrace the Fun** If the tutu just isn’t for you, embrace your favourite dancing style and dance the day away! I think we all could do with a bit of dancing in our lives.

* **Share Your Love!** Now, remember, it is all about spreading the joy of National Tutu Day! Take a photo, put on a tutu, or just write a message celebrating this brilliant day. And, dear friends, remember the power of the hashtag - use #NationalTutuDay and join the celebration!

So let's all take a twirl, darling. Celebrate the artistry and the whimsical fun of it all. May the tutus always make your hearts dance, my dears!

Love,

Your Fashionably Femme

( P.S My dear friends, if you really want to make this day unforgettable, head out for some afternoon tea with a side of scones, whipped cream and a glass of champagne - don’t forget to let your tutu be your guest of honor!)
