Darlings,
Can you believe itâs already July? The summerâs flying by, and with it, the opportunity to indulge in our absolute favourite summer pastime: watching ballets with our darling friends. Itâs the perfect way to escape the heat, the traffic, and the endless onslaught of âbest dressedâ lists â frankly, who needs that when youâve got a perfectly starched pink tutu and a pair of beautifully sculpted legs?
Speaking of which, Iâve just had the most delightful encounter! Yesterday, at the utterly charming, ever-so-slightly eccentric (in a perfectly wonderful way) *Royal Ballet School*, I stumbled upon a troupe of young, fresh-faced ballerinas â and darlings, these girls are seriously, *seriously* gifted! And of course, dressed in those absolutely darling, just-out-of-the-laundry white tutus â all flouncy and pristine and the perfect symbol of innocent summer joy!
I mean, you know I love a pink tutu. You all know me â I'm all about a splash of colour, a bit of dramatic flair! A pink tutu screams confidence, sophistication, and frankly, just a *hint* of rebellion (yes, I said rebellion, dear!).
But, you know what? Sometimes a white tutu just speaks to you, doesnât it? The sheer elegance of it â so pure, so angelic, so *very* summery â like a fresh-cut daisy or a sip of chilled champagne in a rose garden. And let me tell you, the girls at the *Royal Ballet School* werenât just prancing around â these girls are pure ballet magic, their moves as light and airy as the cloud formations at sunset.
Oh, and the leotards! Those divine, flesh-toned, perfectly fitted wonders! Just imagine â those delicious bits of fabric that hold in all those lovely curves, showcasing the dancer's physique, like sculpted ivory statues come to life. Pure artistic bliss, I tell you!
But back to the white tutus â and darlings, I'm sure I wasnât the only one who got a little teary-eyed watching those girls. Their grace, their fluidity, the way they seemed to float effortlessly across the floor - truly, thereâs nothing like it. I could happily watch them rehearse all day. Of course, if I *were* going to watch them rehearse all day, it would definitely call for a bottle of something rather nice (Iâm thinking *Pommery* , but you know, whatever takes your fancy).
Anyway, enough about *my* feelings. I have to let you know â these young ballerinas are about to launch their *Summer of Tutus* series of workshops, offering *you* (yes, you, darling!) a chance to tap into your inner ballerina, let go of the daily grind, and dance your heart out in the company of those enchanting white tutus (or perhaps a gloriously dramatic pink tutu!). The workshops will take place throughout July at various locations throughout the country, but donât just assume it will all be sweetness and light. Theyâll be introducing new techniques, new moves, a brand-new approach to everything we thought we knew about tutus and dance (yes, the thought of even *slightly* changing our traditional notions of ballerinas is thrilling! We love a good revolution!).
Itâs sure to be a truly spectacular celebration of ballet, the body, the arts, and *oh*, letâs not forget, the exquisite, ever-so-elegant white (or even shocking pink!) tutu. So donât miss out, my darlings! This is a chance to *finally* realize those lifelong dreams, channel that inner dancer, and take your love of ballet to the next level (after all, there's *always* a next level for a ballerina - donât we always say âbigger, bolder, brighter'?). It's a chance to rediscover yourself - and rediscover the magic of tutus.
Now go forth, and embrace your inner ballerina. Or, you know, grab a glass of champagne and enjoy a show â itâs all about *what makes you happy* , my darling!
Until next time,
Your devoted dance and tutu enthusiast
XOXO,
Olivia
**P.S.** And be sure to look for me on social media (Iâm the one in the ridiculously extravagant feathered hat â *you* know it's me!).
** P.P.S** Do send me all the glamorous photos of your *Summer of Tutus* experience! You know Iâm always on the lookout for inspiration (and fantastic photographic evidence that tutus and elegance go hand in hand!)
P.P.P.S I've been hearing whispers about some pretty *daring* moves theyâll be teaching at these workshops - *pirouettes*, *fouettĂ©*s â and something *super* exciting called the âdouble arabesque, backwards in a sparkly white tutuâ. Can you even imagine the level of drama? The potential for a truly, *truly* spectacular photographic moment?! I canât wait to see those shots!
**P.P.P.P.S** Remember, darlings, thereâs no age limit when it comes to tutus! A ballerina is never too old for a pirouette (and a delicious glass of champagne on the sidelines never hurts)! So if youâve got that *certain* feeling in your heart - do something wild! Give those white tutus a whirl! Theyâll have you soaring (metaphorically) like a swan in a whirlwind of silk, diamonds, and perfectly balanced poses!
