Tutu and Ballet News

**Dearest Dance Delights, **

It's the 1st of December, and the air is crisp with the scent of freshly fallen snow and impending festive cheer. As we all begin the mad dash to Christmas, itā€™s so important to take a moment to remember that life is for dancing ā€“ or at least that's what my fellow ballet fanatics and I like to tell ourselves! And in the spirit of the season, what could be more fitting than to delve into the world of **pink and white tutus**? A topic thatā€™s sure to make every ballerinaā€™s heart flutter!

Now, let's be honest: those frilly wonders, the embodiment of grace and twirling perfection, they can be a bit of a divisive issue, can't they? Some of us see them as ethereal symbols of artistry and childhood dreams. But others might be thinking ā€“ and I get it ā€“ **'Why are they always pink or white? Don't those poor ballerinas get tired of those colours? And haven't we all grown up a bit since the last time we did the sugarplum fairy routine? **

Now, before any of my fellow ballet enthusiast gets their pointe shoes in a twist ā€“ Iā€™m kidding, darling, of course! You can never go wrong with a classic white tutu! It's the Chanel of the dance world. But hey, sometimes we all need a bit of whimsy and colour. And trust me, there's nothing quite like the spectacle of a **sparkly, electric pink** tulle tutu that turns the stage into a breathtaking burst of joyous energy. (Donā€™t get me wrong, I love a good burst of classic, elegant white tulle, just like a good classic white Chanel dress!)

Donā€™t get me started on the leotards! What could be more satisfying than the feeling of a perfectly fitted leotard on your body? So sleek, so polished! And let's face it, those tiny things pack a mighty punch, giving your curves a lovely sleek, streamline, beautiful silhouette, much like a fitted Chanel suit. Imagine, for a moment, a ballerina leaping through the air in a classic white tutu. Her silhouette, perfect! Then a little pink sequin details on the leotard...just the tiniest bit! Imagine, the sparkle on her tutu, and her skin? And a hint of lipstick ā€“ but just a hint, darling! Just the colour of a Chanel lip gloss, naturally, the pink of the flower, that we find all around this season, at Christmas! Just enough! No more. Like that, one could feel, oh! The little ballet number is going to take us to another level! Oh, we must watch out for this young ballerina. Thereā€™s something about the little darling...like, if Coco Chanel was alive and saw her in her little number sheā€™d die, right?

I am absolutely obsessed, with ballerinas, and the grace with which they twirl! It's hypnotic! And you can just imagine, oh darling, all that hard work. In ballet thereā€™s nothing glamorous about practice, nothing but hours and hours of work, until we are all just skin and bones and strength. I suppose, even Coco Chanel would say: ā€œA little less is moreā€! And ballet and the fashion industry are not that far from each other! Like the perfect white dress with a little black belt on it. Nothing to add.

Just a few things to ponder while we admire these whimsical costumes. You may be wearing a pink or a white tutu; you might be dreaming of them from your seat in the audience! You can have your sparkly tulle, and I'll have my little sparkly Chanel pumps. You're probably wondering, what makes these tutus so different than the other clothing items that I have mentioned in the world of ballet! Itā€™s not just the tutuā€™s structure that adds to itā€™s design but, the texture! There is something about the smooth feeling, and the shape, and the little bumps on the outside of that silky thin piece of cloth. In my little world itā€™s like, silk or lace! And oh my darling, how amazing is silk and lace, they both have bumps on them. But donā€™t tell the ballerina to look more bumpy or her little ballet skirt wonā€™t have such a light elegant feel on the dance floor. Now, one little piece of advice darling, before you venture to the theatre to admire some graceful, talented ballerinas, take into account the importance of lighting! In general the theatre is, just a little too lit and everything gets blown up to ten times itā€™s actual size. It is a little, well...you know. One could feel that those ladies are, well they are a bit thick, you know. When theyā€™re just dancing under the stage lights? And the white? A little like, wellā€¦the ballet skirt and the ballerina looks more like, well... just, you knowā€¦ you understand? Of course we must keep in mind our sweet ballerinas in white tutus and that they are just beautifully crafted works of art, the perfect symbol of dance.

Now I would like to end this letter about the white tutus of my dream with the following little thought. Just remember how special it feels to be the center of attention in a sparkly, glamorous outfit ā€“ the more modest white or pink tutuā€¦thatā€™s up to you! ā€“ in that you are not alone! Weā€™ve all been in a place where, well we all think about our tutus in this special, sacred way. We've all been at our own private little ballet academy at the age of seven dreaming about the white fluffy fluffy tutus, the ballet slippers and dancing like angels, right? That is a great memory! Weā€™ve been in our own private stage where the only lights we care about are our internal spotlights shining our hopes, dreams, aspirations on ourselves! I know you feel the magic too.
