It's been a simply divine day here in London, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and even the squirrels are sporting tiny tutus! Oh, and did I tell you? It's National Tutu Day! Well, okay, I made it up but, who doesn't love an excuse for some tulle-tastic frivolity, eh?
Now, I'm all for a good dose of chic, sophisticated fashion, and heaven knows, we dancers know how to put an outfit together! But sometimes, my dears, a little whimsy goes a long way, especially when it comes to those exquisitely ethereal wisps of fabric we call tutus. They're not just for the stage, you know.

Now, to be fair, we've had some...interesting moments in the world of tutu design, some that may have even made your darling little heart skip a beat! We've had them made of everything from shredded banknotes (quelle horreur!) to, heaven forbid, sequin-encrusted bicycle seats (I simply can't)!

- Make a statement with a dramatic tulle tablecloth! The colour choices are endless! A touch of silver for an elegant evening affair or bright pink for a playful picnic with your darlings.
- Use it to add a bit of drama to your interiors, a luxurious drape on a lampshade, or an ethereal, flowy accent on the end of a curtain.
- Create your own mini-tutu ensemble! Now, here's where the magic truly happens. Take those old, slightly tired t-shirts from the back of the wardrobe and cut them into strips. Gather a bunch of the strips and secure them with a ribbon or an elastic band and Voila! You're good to go, darlings!
- Have a tutu-themed afternoon tea party! You know I love a bit of extravagance, so add some sparkling pink lemonade and cucumber sandwiches and be sure to ask your friends to come in their most flamboyant tulle-licious creations!
