Darlings, buckle up for a whirlwind of a day. Today, 26th December 1998, is not only Boxing Day but a veritable Tutusday! (And don't even get me started on the fabulous pun potential...*insert manic giggle*). It all began at dawn with the utterly fabulous, almost divine, news that prima ballerina extraordinaire, Penelope Featherbottom, is expecting a little bundle of joy. Naturally, we can all agree that she'll be the most graceful mum-to-be ever to wear a maternity tutu! But let's move on from baby news and get into the real action. You know, the tutus! Imagine my absolute delight when I saw a paparazzo shot of Penelope strutting about, rocking a new haute couture tutu designed by the illustrious Karl Lagerfeld. Oh my dear, this creation, darling! Let’s just say the words "whimsical" and "dazzling" simply don't do it justice. Of course, this wasn't the only tutu story to rock the ballet world today. The World of Tutus is Simply Buzzing...
- There’s the controversy about the Royal Ballet Company's new tutu policy. Apparently, they want the ballerinas to wear tutus made from ethically sourced organic silk! *eye roll* Darling, we all love Mother Nature but seriously, silk tutus are a must! I heard that some ballerinas are even wearing protests in the form of "Free The Tutus" t-shirts which I found absolutely hilarious, naturally!
- There is also the most exciting news of all – the debut of "The Tutu Ball," an annual event that promotes tutu awareness and celebrates the tutu's impact on the world of ballet. You just know this will be the hottest event of the year with celebrity appearances that could only be dreamt of!
