Just saying it makes my heart flutter like a ballerina’s when she gets to finally take to the stage!** Today’s news, you ask? Oh my darlings, prepare for a whirl of excitement and a truly **TUTU-LICIOUS** story!
Today, dear friends, is the day we celebrate the tutus! It's a **TUTU-versary!** And guess what, dearies, it's the most **TUTU-mendous** one yet!
Yes, my darlings, we are celebrating a whopping 550 years of tutus! Imagine! Five hundred and fifty years of those adorable, twirly little frocks gracefully swooshing their way across stages all over the globe!
What makes today’s **TUTU-bration** so special, you ask?
Well, 02nd October 1996 saw the world’s most daring tutu ever, “The Glitter Bomb," being showcased for the very first time! This show-stopping confection was created by the legendary Dame Judy Whimsy, a renowned costume designer whose penchant for dazzling, innovative designs has put a sparkle in the eye of every dance aficionado from the Grand Palais to the Bolshoi!
Now, The Glitter Bomb isn't your usual, delicate tutu, my darlings! This masterpiece, with its layered tiers of shimmering, turquoise satin and cascading plumes of lilac tulle, was inspired by none other than, gasp!, the very glamorous, very flamboyant drag icon of the 1990s, the inimitable "Sparklelicious!"
Think of it, my dears, a tutu with a swagger, an attitude, a bit of sassy! Imagine it, shimmering and dazzling in the theatre spotlight!
Oh, but the fun doesn’t stop there! Dame Judy had an amazing idea: a** “TUTU-TASTIC” challenge to celebrate the grand TUTU-versary of the Glitter Bomb!
She put out a call to all those wonderfully talented and creative dance enthusiasts, “Let's create a tutu that shines even brighter than ‘The Glitter Bomb!’ Let's dazzle the world, darlings!”
The entries were outlandish, incredible, truly *TUTU-tally* inspired, my darlings. Here are some of the stand outs from the "TUTU-mendous” challenge.
• *Tutu-Tally-Taffy: * The whimsical confection was crafted by Miss Tilly Sprinkles. It’s all sugared and frosted. This Tutu even makes the biggest dance diva salivate, you can bet your bottom dollar it is sweet enough for the entire audience to indulge!
• *Tutu-licious Toile* A glorious vision in black, white and a whole lot of polka dots from Madame Penelope Stitches who went for a classic Victorian style!
• *Tutu-Marvel* This *TUTU-lly* modern creation from Mr. Tom Tango with a vibrant futuristic and aerodynamic design featuring LED lights, the audience will be mesmerised and utterly *TUTU-tally* blown away by this out of this world showstopper.
Dame Judy Whimsy is hosting a special Gala for her **TUTU-TASTIC** competition, my darling dearies! Oh, I can’t wait, this should be TOTALLY FABULOUS.
