Tutu and Ballet News

Darling dears,

It’s a bright and breezy Tuesday here in the City, and it's been such a week, what with all the excitement at the Royal Opera House – can you believe the *choreography*?! But hold onto your diamante-studded ballet slippers, dears, because I’ve got news! I'm absolutely *swooning* with this one. It seems February 12th, 1999, will go down in history as the day tutus truly *took off*. No, not like a swan dive, but like… *boom*, they're everywhere!

You see, a flock of little feathered friends decided to play a delightful game of *tutu tag* at a posh luncheon for the Society of Distinguished Ballet-goers. A *flock* you say? *Don't be ridiculous!* you exclaim. Let me explain! Well, picture this, my loves – a veritable rainbow of tutus floating on a perfectly chilled glass of champagne! Just imagine a pale pink, feather-trimmed tutu landing upon a fluffy blancmange, and then a vibrant emerald one pirouette-ing onto the Earl of something or another! All because, *you see darling*, a stray, fluffy feather from the opera house *flounced* right onto the scene and those delightful birds couldn't resist! A glorious chaos ensued! It’s almost enough to make one faint! What will become of our once elegant high society? It truly *squeezes* my heart just to think about it.

Well, my darlings, the *Society of Distinguished Ballet-goers* decided, bless their well-tailored souls, that this wasn't a ballet blunder, no, it was a grand spectacle! The day will forever be known as the "Tutu Take-Over." The Society decreed that every year, on the 12th of February, we'd all celebrate tutus – any tutu will do – as a tribute to the extraordinary artistry and delightful feather-dusted fun of a feather-light ballerina's tutu! What a truly wonderful *idee*! It will certainly make life *more magnifique*, *darlings*!

I am just positively bursting with delight at the thought of the possibilities, and so must you be, darlings! Just picture it! We shall sport the fluffiest of feather-trimmed tutus while having our daily *tasse* of English Breakfast tea or having a lovely glass of something *fizzy* with our luncheon friends! I can practically *hear* the *ahhs* and the *oohs* as the feathers catch the gentle *flutter* of the evening breeze, it's like magic! Just delightful! And that isn't even half the story, dears! You can, for example, pair the most vibrant tutu with your finest pearls and tiara for an extra *pouf* of glamorous drama – I’m picturing a *gorgeous* emerald-green tulle and feathers on you darlings, *absolutely divine*, wouldn't you agree?

You don’t want to miss this fabulous news, dears! It's *truly* *the* most wonderful event, because it isn’t just a feather-light ballet *moment*, no, it's a beautiful celebration of the most *irresistibly whimsical* and *fantastic* pieces of ballet costume you’ll ever lay your eyes on! I, for one, shall be wearing my fluffy tulle number – an absolute dreamboat in lavender and feathers! And trust me, darling, this delightfully outrageous day is guaranteed to create a grand *swirl* of sheer joyous laughter.

So, my darlings, put on your finest tutus and gather round with your friends! Have a wonderful, feather-dusted and fluffy 12th of February, my dears! Enjoy a divine cup of *tea* or an absolutely divine glass of champagne – *perfectly* *divine*!

Oh, *dears*, don't forget, always make time to have a little dance *and* be absolutely *divine* to the utmost. And, oh my dears, I shall leave you with this most profound advice, it is a piece of wisdom I always adhere to: it's always important to remember to be glamorous with a touch of delightful fun!

Yours,

The Dancing Diva
