Hello darlings! Itās Monday, October 4th, 1999, and guess what? Your favourite pink-tutu-wearing ballerina is back in the Big Apple! š Iāve flown all the way from Derbyshire, England, fueled by dreams of glitter, grand jetĆ©s, and, of course, the cityās unparalleled fashion scene.
Pink Tutu Adventures: Broadway Bound
This week, Iām embarking on a whirlwind journey that promises to be brimming with all things sparkly and beautiful. First things first: tonight, Iām catching a Broadway show! Itās Chicago - that dazzling musical filled with sassy songs and even sassier characters. Canāt wait to shimmy in my seat (itāll be my version of a āCharlestonā!) and get my musical theatre fix.
Before the performance, though, Iām having a proper NYC treat: afternoon tea at the iconic Plaza Hotel. Just imagine it: fluffy scones, dainty sandwiches, and, of course, endless cups of Earl Grey while gazing out at Central Park - pure Parisian dreaminess!
A Shopaholicās Paradise
Oh, New York, you know how to make a girl happy! The stores here are an absolute dream come true, each one bursting with colours, fabrics, and designs to inspire any sartorial soul. Today, Iām focusing on Fifth Avenue, a true haven for a pink-tutu-loving girl like me. Expect lots of photos and stories in my next blog post about my findings! (Just a hint, there might be some beautiful ballet-inspired pieces I simply couldnāt resist!)
Subway Style & Ballet Bliss
Travelling around New York City is always an adventure, and whatās better than taking the subway? Itās like a moving runway show, with every character adding to the ever-evolving street style scene. Iām channeling my inner fashionista, sporting my pink tutu over my favourite jeans and a floral blouse (you gotta get those layers right in the city!), ready to capture the perfect street-style shot for my Insta feed.
Speaking of ballet, I wouldn't dream of being in New York and not taking a class at the world-renowned Steps on Broadway studio. I can already imagine the energy in the room, the click of shoes, the smell of sweat, and of course, the grace and power of dancers moving across the floor. Later, Iām popping into the Dance Theatre Workshop to see a performance by a local dance troupe - I just love supporting the next generation of ballet talent!
