Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Monday 2000-01-31 - Dancing Through The Big Apple! 🩰🍎

#PinkTutuBlogNYC Post #243

Hello my darlings! 👋

I’m back in my favourite city in the world - New York! It’s Monday, which means it's time for a new blog post and a brand new adventure for your favourite pink tutu-wearing ballerina. ✨

As I always say, it's never too late to chase your dreams. And for me, that dream is dancing under the bright lights of Broadway and feeling the pulse of this incredible city through my pink tutu. 💖

This time, I’m in town for the launch of the American Ballet Theatre's new season. The programme is absolutely packed with stunning ballets, both classic and contemporary. 🩰 My absolute must-see is the premiere of "The Firebird" by the legendary Mikhail Fokine. You can bet I’ll be at the Metropolitan Opera House on Saturday for that one!

And guess what, my lovelies? I’m going to have a whirl on the Broadway stage myself! Yes, you heard right. I've been asked to be a special guest in the cast of “The Little Mermaid”, where I’ll be performing the iconic "Under The Sea" scene. It’s such a thrill! 🧜‍♀️

To celebrate, I treated myself to a fabulous shopping spree in Soho, my absolute favourite area in the city for designer fashion. Can you imagine the joy? 🛍️ The sheer colour, the divine textures… I even found a gorgeous pink tutu for my performance! It has a shimmering, iridescent quality, just like the scales of a mermaid. You’ll have to see it for yourselves. 🤫

But of course, New York City is much more than just its incredible cultural offerings. It’s the energy of the city, the sense of excitement, the endless possibilities. And for me, that's best experienced through a **journey on the subway. The rhythm of the rattling tracks, the kaleidoscope of colours, the stories that unfold on the faces around you - it’s like being in a moving artwork! 🤩

As you can see, life is moving at a million miles per hour in the Big Apple. 🍎 This weekend, the city's bursting with festivities:

  • Winter Antiques Show at the Park Avenue Armory for those who love all things vintage!
  • The New York City Opera is hosting “Tosca” at the Rose Theatre in their ongoing winter season.
  • And for some true magic, you can catch “Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy” at the New York Hilton Midtown for a whimsical extravaganza!

And, of course, I wouldn't be a true Pink Tutu Ballerina if I didn't take advantage of all the beautiful spots in the city. My must-visit this week? Central Park with its sparkling pond and iconic backdrop of the skyscrapers! Who doesn't love a good twirl in the snow? ❄️

Here’s what I’ve learned about NYC this week:

  • Always carry a travel umbrella! Winter in New York is all about the snow, sleet, and showers, so it’s better to be prepared.
  • Embrace the energy of the city, even when it's a little crazy! New York City is an experience, so take in every minute with an open heart.
  • And never, ever forget to dance! It's in my blood, it's in your blood, it’s in the air, it’s in everything!

To end this week on a truly wonderful note, let me share with you a memory that always fills me with pure joy.

My dearest grandmother always said, "You can twirl anywhere, Emma. Even in your own backyard.” She instilled in me the power of creativity and the beauty of finding happiness in the most unexpected places. That’s the essence of Pink Tutu Blog NYC - finding joy and glamour in every adventure! ✨
