Hello my lovely readers, and welcome back to another exciting week here at Pink Tutu Blog NYC! As always, I'm writing this from the heart of the Big Apple – I'm currently ensconced in a darling little hotel room, just steps away from Central Park, the very epitome of springtime joy! I do love the bustle and energy of the city, it’s certainly not Derbyshire, that’s for sure!
But first, a quick hello to my fellow tutu-wearers – let's spread the pink joy, and remember: a tutu is always appropriate, every day of the week! Just look at me – I’m living proof, strutting my stuff in a gloriously girly pink tulle dream here in the heart of New York!
The Ballet Beat – Broadway Bound!
I know you're all dying to hear about the fabulous performance I saw last night – and I don’t blame you. Let's just say, I'm still buzzing!
My trusty subway – bless her wheels – took me straight to the heart of the theatre district – my usual fare for a fabulous ballet evening! My dress this time? You guessed it, darling! A beautiful coral pink number, a touch of Parisian chic, if I do say so myself. I was absolutely “ready to dance” as my favourite song by my favorite pop princess, Gwen Stefani would have it.
The production was simply breath-taking, a story told through movement and music. As always, the skill and passion of these dancers brought the performance to life in a way words cannot describe! Such a visual treat - they simply transported me to another world, a world of dreams and artistry, spun with delicate grace. It reminded me just why I’m so in love with ballet; it is, quite simply, pure magic. I just felt so proud to be a dancer myself, no matter how long I've been retired.
And did I mention the incredible costumes? So many gorgeous colors and fabrics, from luxurious satins to breathtaking tulle, everything just swirled and shimmered – a pure delight for the eyes!
Afterwards, I headed to the little cafe across the street from the theatre to enjoy a decadent piece of cherry cheesecake with a glass of sparkling grape juice, I felt as if I were in one of my favourite romantic movies! My perfect New York fairytale ending, just like Carrie Bradshaw at the end of “Sex and The City”! And yes, a certain very dapper and dashing gentleman was sitting a table away, just as you all predicted, although I managed to keep the conversation strictly platonic (well, until he invited me to the next ballet show!). 😉
Shopping Splurge
Oh darling! Speaking of the next ballet show, what to wear?? My mind is abuzz with ideas for a stunning ensemble! This week, my mission is to find the perfect pink feather boa for a dazzling ensemble. The vibrant pink feathers are just begging for the spotlight.
Of course, no New York adventure would be complete without a trip to Bergdorf Goodman – the mecca of high fashion. So naturally, this afternoon, I’m venturing to its luxurious aisles, on the hunt for that oh-so-fabulous feather boa. Who knows what other fashion treasures I’ll discover on the way, the potential for an absolutely magnificent pink outfit is simply staggering! Stay tuned, darlings! I'm sure my camera will be bursting with snapshots from the store.
Pink Tutu Thoughts for the Week
"Do you have a little something pink for a girl? “ – What more does a pink tutu-loving ballerina need to hear than these words? I can feel another fabulous week in the Big Apple coming on – the kind that will bring pink delights to my heart.
Remember: Never, ever, be afraid to stand out from the crowd, let your pink spirit shine bright!
And for those of you just dipping your toes into the world of tutus, let me share my secret: The perfect tutu comes in all sizes, shapes, and colours - the most important element is its ability to ignite a smile and spark joy in your heart. And don’t forget about the ultimate tutu accessory - confidence, that’s something we all need more of, you, me, the whole world, I'm convinced of it!
