Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Monday, 2009-05-25 - A Whirlwind of Pink in the Big Apple (Post #729)

Hello my darling darlings! It's Monday again, and that means it's time for a brand new post from your favourite pink tutu-clad blogger, Emma, fresh from the bustling streets of New York City! I'm typing this up with a spring in my step, the delightful hum of the city swirling around me – the taxi horns, the street musicians, the chatter of the tourists, the click-clack of high heels – it's simply a symphony for the senses!

Now, I'm not one to boast, but my travels here in the Big Apple have been utterly fantastic. As usual, the secret ingredient to making any journey extraordinary? Why, a dash of pink, a whole heap of tulle, and a generous sprinkling of ballet magic, of course! And oh my goodness, this city is just teeming with ballet opportunities.

This past week has been a complete whirlwind of performances, rehearsals, and some seriously spectacular shopping! I've been twirling in the aisles at Bloomingdale's, marveling at the fabulous window displays on Fifth Avenue, and of course, making sure I got myself a few stylish pink delights – more on those later, darling!

Let me paint you a picture, lovelies! Imagine the most magical blend of vintage glamour, modern style, and an infectious sense of fun. That's New York City for you. My trusty Metrocard has been my constant companion – it's so efficient and fast! Zipping through the tunnels with my pink tutu flowing behind me always causes a stir, a smile, a twinkle in the eye. It’s an enchanting way to experience the heartbeat of the city!

And speaking of heartbeat… this past Saturday night, I saw the most incredible performance of the ballet “Swan Lake” at the Metropolitan Opera House. You'd think after seeing hundreds of Swan Lakes in my life I'd be a little jaded, but oh darling, the emotion, the passion, the sheer beauty on display made my heart swell with joy. I felt like I was floating on a cloud of pink tulle!

Oh, and did I mention the gowns in the audience? My dears, let's just say I felt utterly inspired. I practically wanted to steal the wardrobe department – I mean, some of the hats alone would make even the most jaded fashionista drool with envy! The whole experience was just exquisite, making my little pink tutu dance in delight.

This week, I have a very special treat for all you gorgeous gals out there: a fabulous, glittering performance with my ballet company in Central Park! The thought of dancing beneath the sky, with the city as our audience, simply sends a thrill of excitement up my spine. It's sure to be a magical evening. I’ll post about it all next Monday – be sure to check back!

And while I'm in this pink, tulle-infused frenzy, let’s not forget the mission of the Pink Tutu blog: to spread the joy of pink and twirls across the globe. And what better place to do that than in the glorious melting pot of styles that is New York City?

Think about it – can you imagine a sea of pink tutus filling Times Square? It would be a visual masterpiece! Think of all the laughs, the fun, and the joy. We could even have a flash mob! Just imagine the paparazzi flashing lights, the people cheering, and all the glorious pink tulle swirling around us!

Okay, so maybe that's just a dream, for now. But one can dream, darling, can’t they?

So, keep those pink dreams swirling and be sure to spread a little sprinkle of magic and joy everywhere you go! Stay fabulous my darlings! Until next Monday!

Love,

Emma xoxo
