Hello darlings! It’s Monday, and you know what that means: time for another exciting adventure from yours truly, Emma, the Pink Tutu Princess, landing right on your screen. This week, I'm beaming back at you from the glittering metropolis that is New York City! Yes, you heard right! This fabulous fashionista, clad in a hot pink tutu, has conquered the concrete jungle and found magic amongst the skyscrapers.

And as always, I'm excited to share every delightful detail with you, from the delectable pastries I've devoured (chocolate croissants, you wouldn’t believe the ones they have here!) to the awe-inspiring ballet performances that have left me practically pirouetting through the streets!

Oh, and you wouldn't believe the gorgeous shops I've stumbled upon, my darlings. From the dazzling displays of Fifth Avenue to the quirky boutiques nestled in hidden corners of Greenwich Village, there’s an abundance of treasures just waiting to be discovered. I even spotted a little shop brimming with pink tutus just begging to be twirled in! My, oh my, it was positively heaven!

Let's just say that the Big Apple certainly lives up to its name. It’s been one dazzling spectacle after another!

One of my highlights this week was a mesmerising evening at the New York City Ballet. Oh, the elegance! The artistry! The breathtaking costumes! I truly felt as though I’d been transported to another world, one where graceful ballerinas floated through the air, leaving a trail of beauty and wonder in their wake. The way their bodies moved with such strength and grace, it was almost impossible to believe it was humanly possible! I left the theatre with stars in my eyes, my heart overflowing with inspiration and my soul bursting with happiness.

This was a night of enchantment. I’d say a perfect ballet night has:

• Breathtaking performances: Where every dancer's moves seemed to be poetry in motion, their artistry creating an ethereal masterpiece.
• Spectacular costumes: These weren’t just mere garments, but exquisite pieces of art themselves! Every detail from the shimmering fabrics to the delicate embellishments made me gasp with admiration. I'd love to get my hands on a costume like that, oh the wonderful photo-shoots we could have!
• Magical atmosphere: There’s a certain aura you encounter at a live ballet that just isn't possible to replicate in a video, it's pure magic! The silence as the lights dimmed, the hush as the dancers began their movements, and then the rapturous applause at the end. Truly captivating.
• A touch of pink! Of course, every good evening must have at least one pink tutu involved. And for me, it meant a blush pink tulle skirt tucked into my favorite cardigan – a little pink to add sparkle to a perfectly delightful evening.

Speaking of pink tutus, darling, I can't help but share the delight of discovering a hidden gem nestled on a quaint, cobblestone street – a true ballet heaven! This little shop was overflowing with all things dance, with shelves stacked high with pointe shoes, leotards, tutus, and all sorts of enchanting accessories. And what really stole my heart was the stunning display of pink tutus, fluttering like delicate butterflies in a gentle breeze.

Let's be honest, I wasn't really just shopping for shoes, I was on a quest. A mission to find a new tutu that would capture my imagination and inspire new adventures. After all, a new tutu is an excuse for a new photoshoot, right?! The search for a perfect pink tutu is a mission I always enjoy. This week, I’ve found a new companion - a light pastel pink one that whispers “adventure!” And just imagine the amazing pictures I’m going to take with this one!

The hunt for the ideal pink tutu isn’t a mission to be taken lightly. There are, after all, so many lovely pink shades to choose from! My perfect pink tutu should…

• Capture the perfect hue: It can't just be any pink, darlings! It needs to be the right pink, the one that makes my heart sing, like a ballerina dancing on air. A colour that perfectly complements my style and brightens up every photograph.
• Sparkle and twirl beautifully: A tutu's purpose in life, in my opinion, is to twirl! Every fabric, every layer of tulle should make the perfect swish, with a little touch of sparkle to catch the light and bring joy to everyone who sees it.
• Speak to my inner dancer: You might not think tutus can have feelings, but they do! They're like magic whispers that guide our dance and tell our stories. Finding a tutu that reflects my unique spirit is pure magic!
• Suit my adventures: Every perfect tutu needs to fit every new adventure. This one will be perfect for exploring New York City, whether it’s riding the subway or strolling through Central Park!

This vibrant city has so much to offer, darlings, you'd be absolutely spoiled for choice! Whether you’re a lover of art, music, food, or fashion, New York City will have you breathless with excitement! From the dazzling displays of Broadway to the hidden art galleries tucked away in trendy neighborhoods, there's a new adventure waiting around every corner. I can’t wait to discover what surprises await me tomorrow!

Here are a few highlights from my New York journey this week, with the tutu lens on:

• Broadway’s magic: Broadway, my darlings! It's not just the lights and the sounds of the city; it's the energy that crackles in the air. I loved soaking it all in, from the dazzling shows that made me laugh, cry, and gasp in awe, to the vibrant, colourful energy buzzing around Times Square. Of course, I took a whirl on the famed TKTS stairs and had my picture taken, right next to the iconic bright red sign!
• Central Park’s green oasis: Escaping the hustle and bustle of the city in Central Park’s vibrant greens is like finding an island of tranquility. The sights, sounds, and smells of this lush green space are captivating! I felt inspired by the open space, watching people walk, skate, dance, even picnic – it really captured the essence of a modern city life, full of movement and possibilities.
• Trendy treats and delicious delights: New York is truly a foodie paradise, with a taste bud tempting restaurant on practically every street corner. Every morning, I begin the day with a fresh croissant (I found the perfect one with flakey layers and rich, delicious pastry!). In the afternoon, I enjoy tea with scones (and clotted cream, of course!), or a lovely cupcake for a quick pick-me-up.

The best part? They’ve even managed to bring pink into the city's treats: I had a fantastic raspberry rose cupcake with a bright pink frosting! Of course, the best way to indulge is to enjoy every moment, taking a sip, a bite, and savouring every sweet sensation!

Moving around in New York city can be quite a rush, darlings. With so many sights to see and things to do, there’s a whirlwind of movement, constantly. But it doesn’t take away from the magical journey! The subway in particular is a wonderfully chaotic way to navigate the city, always brimming with an energetic rhythm and intriguing faces, just waiting to be observed.

I love taking the subway, for it allows you to really experience the pulsating heartbeat of the city, and also to see all the interesting people who live in it. Each carriage offers a chance for a new encounter, a glimpse into someone else's story. It’s a mini fashion show every time I step onto the subway. There are a huge variety of styles, from those wearing sophisticated high heels, to trendy streetwear outfits, to those in casual clothes, rushing off to work. The New Yorkers truly embrace their unique personalities.

Of course, I have a special little tip for all the fashion-forward travellers using the New York City subway. The secret? Keep a change of shoes in your bag. You’ll never regret being prepared with an emergency ballet shoe solution!

You know, darlings, every adventure starts with a single step. As a little girl, my dream was to dance through the streets of New York, a vision fueled by the power of ballet and a love of pink. Now, my pink tutu is a beacon for capturing magic wherever I go. Each city is a different stage, filled with diverse energies, sights, and sounds, offering a new chance to experience the world through a dancer’s heart. And to spread the pink-tutu-filled magic, I'm not afraid to wear my pink tutu on a public commute, as it makes for a bright splash of colour on a rather monotone background! And it’s a fantastic conversation starter too! People often stop to chat, to tell me about their favorite dance or ask for advice, and some even admit to having dreamt of wearing a pink tutu as a child too!

As a ballerina, I want to show everyone how much joy dancing can bring, especially with a dash of pink! Whether I'm in the grandest opera house or dancing in the heart of Central Park, my aim is to share the magic of ballet and inspire the world to Embrace the Pink!
