Hello, my darlings!

Well, the week starts in NYC, as always! You know I’m obsessed with this city! You really can’t beat it! It’s a bit nippy outside, but I'm swaddled in my fluffiest pink faux fur coat and I've got a full day planned, full of New York magic and the most incredible ballet! I'm bursting with excitement to share my day with you!

You know how much I adore all things sparkly and beautiful – and I have found the most amazing new store – you won't believe the gorgeous accessories they have. It’s a dream come true for a pink-tutu loving ballerina like myself! My wardrobe is crying out for some gorgeous new ballet flats with fluffy pom-poms. So dreamy. The shoes are a must-have - I’ll tell you all about it in this week’s post.

Today is all about taking a little ballet journey to the legendary Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts – and a little exploration of the iconic city that never sleeps! Oh, the wonders of this beautiful city. I love the city bustle, the iconic skyscrapers, the constant thrumming heartbeat, the bright lights of Broadway! It never fails to make my heart race a little faster!

You’ll love hearing about this fantastic ballet performance I’ve seen today at the Metropolitan Opera, the pinnacle of theatrical excellence, just about an hour or so on the metro from my little haven in Midtown Manhattan! Oh, it’s such a special experience. This week’s ballet will take you on a breathtaking journey of beauty and graceful movement. Let’s start this adventure…

Let me just get right into it - The NY Metro is my life-line! A marvel of the modern world. Honestly, getting around by metro is so easy – even for a girl as fashionably challenged as I can be with a tutu, an unwieldy bag of shopping and my beloved dancing shoes, sometimes strapped to a very pink-tutu-adorned tote!

It’s funny how everyone always gives you this look when you enter with your pink tutu! It's not quite a ballet performance. Sometimes I have to really wrangle this enormous tote bag! It makes me laugh, everyone wants to get that first class, non-tutu, no fuss feeling, it makes me smile and laugh as I watch everyone on the platform. It makes getting around, on a Friday morning in New York City, all the more thrilling – with the city waking up around me! It's a real ballet, as soon as you set foot on the platform! You can’t help it – it makes everything a little bit more fun and a little more theatrical!

I have to tell you a funny little anecdote! It all happened on the 7 train – so the last thing you want is to see someone else's sweaty legs on the platform when the trains arriving! It’s amazing, it can get crowded – I swear it makes me even happier about my tutu and my cute ballet bag with little dancing shoes sticking out! I just try and keep to myself, avoid eye contact, look forward, avoid all contact - the platform chaos, the people pushing and the screams as the doors close. Honestly it's not for the faint-hearted!

Oh! And that awful "beep beep, beep beep, beep" of the door! I think I should just shout – just shout "ballet ballet," all I ever need in this beautiful City that never sleeps!

But today’s subway journey is really smooth, I'm feeling happy and grateful to be here, it’s quite lovely as it goes whoosh past the station stops - all in this beautifully vintage, subterranean world, in my little, pastel pink world, I even managed to avoid a pigeon this morning – there’s nothing quite like it in the world! That’s the wonderful thing about this metro, it whisks you right from my little Manhattan haven right to the theatre door! There’s nothing like a little NYC magic! There are even musicians playing on the platform! Sometimes there is the odd person that needs some "encouragement"! But today, as always, it’s the beautiful vibrant hum of New York!

I am literally in a tutu-tastic mood! So this metro is the absolute perfect backdrop for all the ballet excitement, getting right in that wonderful mood!

I've always said I was born to wear a tutu. A bit like the NY metro! Always on time and never gives up! I can see myself just gracefully stepping out of the train onto the platform, and maybe even being mistaken for a real ballerina! (Yes! Sometimes even I can dream a little). So here I am – ready to make an unforgettable entrée onto the Lincoln Centre platform in my ballet shoes! And I am definitely ready to see the Metropolitan Opera Ballet - ready to dance, spin, jump, pirouette in my favorite tutus, my ultimate passion! I am even wearing my pink tutu on this magical NYC adventure today - it's my "good luck" charm, don't forget!

It is an exciting journey for a tutu-tastic girl! It makes me smile and think about all those dreams! Maybe someday I'll be waltzing through Lincoln Center as a real, professional dancer – wouldn’t that be fabulous! I can just see the lovely stage – and just picture all the beautiful colours. Oh, my head’s bursting with all those colours! A dream world…and this magical journey all starts on the New York subway – on my way to see ballet - what’s better than a tutu-tastic day, well maybe only ballet is better, and a whole lot of dancing in my favorite city – NYC!

Well here I am – backstage at the Metropolitan Opera House, on this lovely cool November morning in New York. All ready to watch one of the world's most respected and admired ballet troupes. The magic of the opera! Honestly this is every little girl’s dream! It really is an iconic spot, for ballet, drama, music, theatre, oh and of course – me!

And, I can’t even tell you what the show is all about - but you'll get the general idea from what I tell you. It was beautiful! This was a powerful dance with passion and feeling that absolutely took my breath away! I don't think I can even start to explain how incredibly beautiful, artistic, and exciting this experience was – it's something everyone has to experience at least once in their lifetime.

I can see myself on stage, in that big world, moving around, just as they do, effortlessly - It's a dance of emotions and energy - with these magical twirls, grand jetés - like magic in the air! Just about everything - my ballerina soul was touched, every inch of me! I feel my spirit soaring, with all those choreographed movements - it felt as though it touched my soul. My little dance shoes are literally quivering with all those beautiful moves! The colours and lights, it was truly amazing – so much to watch – an amazing ballet performance, like something out of my dreams! Oh, and my absolute favourite – a whole troupe of ballet dancers dancing in synchronised, breathtaking perfectness - as if in one giant body!

It's an absolute dream to walk through the world’s famous Lincoln Center and know that a few minutes later I will see such incredible, talented performers dancing – that makes it such a magical journey for me, to come all the way here from my Midtown Manhattan haven, to be a tutu-tastic ballerina girl. My dancing shoes feel like they are bouncing in anticipation!

The costumes, the dancers, and the energy – there's nothing quite like it! It's magic, pure magic. I love those intricate, detailed movements and I just had to watch every twist and turn - as though my ballet dreams have suddenly taken shape in front of me! And it almost feels as if I've been transformed! I’m like Alice in Wonderland! Just magic around every corner – at every turn of the head – so utterly, utterly beautiful, with the wonderful musicians, those enchanting harmonies and rhythms, making me wish I could just stop and melt away. This is what makes a tutu-tastic experience so perfect!

This performance is filled with every single ballet passion I have – elegance, movement, beautiful costumes, and some of the most stunning and powerful moves - all on display with just about everything! I love how all the dancing feels so graceful - It feels so strong and yet it’s just about the lightest - with beautiful poise. It's beautiful, elegant, exciting - just magic - with so many intricate moves that are truly breathtaking and simply magical. Oh, and my ballet-tastic wardrobe – how perfect is it – my tutu with ballet shoes. Just the perfect thing – it feels like a second skin on a lovely cool New York morning! As a tutu-tastic ballerina girl it makes this performance just a tiny bit more special - It’s almost like wearing a talisman of good luck. I really think this is why my life is a bit like my New York City Adventures – and full of ballerina fantasies - a magical ballet! It all fits perfectly - that’s just what a perfect ballet is all about – and all I want to do, is spread the word! A little sprinkle of magic and ballerina love and I want you to experience the magic for yourself – this wonderful balletic world – it will inspire you too. It just doesn’t get any more special than this, it makes my ballerina heart sing – It’s what all ballerinas have dreamed of - to dance under the lights! And I don't know how, or why - I really want to be there too!

Of course – a pink tutu isn't quite enough on my lovely afternoon out to a Broadway show! You really do need the absolute right wardrobe! To say I loved shopping in NYC today is just an understatement! It's truly amazing here - what a wonderland for a fashion-loving ballerina – what a fabulous opportunity to see the world! This shopping journey takes us to a fantastic new accessory store – filled with fashionistas and designers, it's just the right place!

It really feels as if you are walking through a fashion story - right out of my favorite mag! I feel right at home, with this fashion-conscious world, surrounded by the ultimate designers, like a giant playground, with bags of fashion possibilities – it’s amazing! All that colour, all that choice - it makes my tutu look a bit understated - in a very good way. Of course, it would never clash – and a little bit of a “less is more,” is just so perfect for me - especially after this magical ballet experience. It’s all about my fabulous tutu!

That’s why a ballet-tastic girl like myself - loves the “Pink Tutu World” - a little something in my life, my heart, and on my lovely pink toes – yes my tutus – even the really big tutus – it’s about adding that splash of color and style - something very, very, special, my very own brand.

I can't believe my day in the big apple has been such a magical, amazing, unbelievable experience! And just like that I've got to fly off - but it won't be long until I'm back! You see this is the beauty of NY - just like me - it never gets old – there are new, different experiences around every corner! So here’s me, about to catch a train back home, feeling inspired, excited and absolutely blessed. I really can’t imagine being anywhere else on this beautiful November afternoon.
