It’s Emma here, back from a whirlwind weekend in the Big Apple, New York City! This week, my pink tutu twirled through the streets, danced under the bright lights of Broadway, and took a dip into the glittering fashion world of Manhattan.
I know, I know, you might think New York is an odd place to be rocking a pink tutu - especially when you picture the concrete jungle. But honestly, it’s the perfect backdrop for a ballet-loving girl like me! Every busy street feels like a stage, and every passerby, a potential audience member. Plus, you know me - pink is a power colour! I think it’s time everyone embraced their inner tutu-wearer!
Saturday: Broadway Lights and a Pink Tutu Symphony
We arrived at Grand Central Terminal on Saturday afternoon. What a gorgeous building! I almost didn't want to leave, but the lure of the theatre beckoned.
This weekend, I saw Hamilton. You know how much I adore musical theatre, and this was a show that lived up to all the hype. The music, the dancing, the story, the whole experience was pure magic! It really did have me believing that I'd been transported back in time to the founding fathers, which was even more magical as I felt so incredibly glammed up with my pink tutu, adding a touch of fantasy and joy to the historical drama. Honestly, it felt like we were all in on a giant, fabulous secret!
Sunday: Fashion Finds & Metro Adventures
Sunday was all about shopping! From the high-end department stores of Fifth Avenue to the vintage gems tucked away in the East Village, my credit card was working overtime! I found the most divine lace dress that I can already see myself wearing with my tutu - you can bet I'll post pictures when I get home! Of course, no visit to New York City is complete without a trip to Times Square! I loved all the flashing lights and energy of the city. It made me want to twirl for days!
The Power of Pink Tutu Travel
As you know, I love traveling on a budget - my performances are my fuel! The Metro became my trusty companion this weekend - I used it to travel everywhere, including to and from Broadway! It’s an affordable, efficient, and sometimes quite hilarious experience. The looks people give you while wearing a pink tutu on the subway is almost worth the price of admission alone! It was also great fun being surrounded by all those people and knowing that a little bit of pink and tulle made me stand out in the crowd - spreading joy and encouraging other people to live their lives to the fullest and be bold and daring! It truly was like having a whole cast of background dancers just by choosing to wear pink and my tutu.
And honestly, if I’m ever going to convince everyone to wear a pink tutu, it starts with showing off my tutu everywhere, from Derbyshire, England, to the heart of New York City! The world is our stage, ladies and gents!
A Big City Adventure
My pink tutu took on the Big Apple this week, and New York City welcomed me with open arms, reminding me how important it is to dream big, be bold, and wear pink whenever you get the chance! It is time to live our lives like the best performances - all in a dazzling pink tutu!
