Hello my darling readers! 🩰✨ It's Emma, your pink tutu-clad ballerina blogger, back from a whirlwind week in the city that never sleeps: New York City! I have to say, this trip was filled with twirls, twinkles, and more pink than ever before.

This week's blog is dedicated to the magical experience of dancing in New York. Oh, you have no idea the joy I felt seeing those towering skyscrapers, each with its own dazzling lights, reflecting in the streets below. Every inch of this city just felt so...vibrant! I think you could feel the rhythm in your soul just by walking along those iconic avenues!

Now, let's rewind a little bit. You see, as many of you know, I hail from the picturesque Derbyshire, a place with its own charm and beauty. But when the yearning for a grand adventure calls, well, you have to listen! I'm blessed with this wonderful talent for ballet, and that allows me to pursue these travel dreams. Every show, every performance brings me one step closer to exploring the world, and that's how I funded this magnificent New York City trip!

Packing for this trip was an exciting affair. My trusty pink tutu made its grand appearance, of course! But I also added a few extra glittery accessories and a pair of dazzling pink ballet flats for those spontaneous performance opportunities, just you wait and see!

Landing in New York, I had a brilliant idea – why not experience the city like a local? I hopped on the metro! It was a thrill navigating those bustling stations. Imagine: the whoosh of the train arriving, the excited chatter of fellow commuters, and me in my pink tutu, feeling like I was on stage! People definitely stopped to look - I'm sure I caused quite a stir. But who cares? Spreading the pink tutu love is part of my mission, darling!

Broadway was on the top of my list, you already know! Oh, the lights! The energy! The costumes! The drama! There was just something about those ornate theatres, each holding a piece of theatre history, and the thought of performers going onto that iconic stage every night… I couldn’t even!

This week, I saw “Wicked", a breathtaking spectacle. It's no surprise that it's been such a long-running Broadway smash. The costumes, the music, the story - it truly enchanted me! But what really stuck with me was the green glow of the Wicked Witch’s outfit, I'll never forget it! It made me think, maybe a little emerald green could sneak into my next pink tutu look... hmmm...

Now, I’m not just a stage-loving performer. I’m an enthusiastic ballet lover through and through, so finding a dance studio in NYC was at the top of my list. My search led me to a fantastic studio in the West Village, a quaint, historic neighbourhood, just a short hop from Greenwich Village. There I took a beginner-level ballet class and it was… magical!

Just picture it: me, in a pink tutu of course, alongside others with a passion for this beautiful art. We were learning the classic steps, each one taking us deeper into the story, the feeling of movement, of art in motion. You can't help but feel a connection with other dancers in a room, sharing that unique sense of grace and passion.

New York City is synonymous with shopping, darlings! Now, I must confess, a few designer pink tutus were on my list - but that's a story for another blog post! Instead, let’s talk about my favorite finds in SoHo! The quirky shops, the independent boutiques, the colourful streets, it was simply heaven. I stumbled across the most exquisite pink silk scarf at a small shop. It had little ballerinas dancing across the fabric. Talk about 運命, destiny, my dears! I bought it instantly!

Later, in Greenwich Village, I found myself in the most delightful shop brimming with the most unique, sparkling shoes you could imagine! Imagine this: shimmering, rainbow sequins, sparkling pink gemstones, all crafted in the most elegant designs - oh, the creativity! It was impossible to resist, so I snagged a gorgeous pair of rainbow-sparkle ballet flats. Trust me, you haven’t lived until you've twirled in these!

This city doesn't disappoint when it comes to dinner, darlings. Now, I know you’re expecting some fancy restaurant recommendation, and yes, there was plenty of fine dining! But let's go beyond that… because what I’m really here to talk about is… street food! Oh, that spicy hot dog, perfectly cooked with all the toppings you could dream of. And a perfectly fluffy pretzel dusted with sea salt - pure joy! Of course, there were pink lemonade, smoothies and an assortment of brightly coloured cupcakes to satisfy my sweet tooth! The combination of flavours, the bustling atmosphere – it was all such a delight.

So there you have it, darlings! My New York City adventure! I had a truly magical week. Every street corner was a scene from a musical, and I danced to the rhythm of the city's heart! From Broadway to the subway, I've brought a bit of my pink tutu magic to every corner!
