Pink Tutu Blog NYC: Monday 2025-01-06 - She Danced in New York City!

Post Number 1544

Good morning, my lovely Pink Tutu readers!

It's a bright and sparkly Monday in New York City, and I'm sitting here in my favourite café, sipping a pink latte (with a side of croissant, of course!) and catching up on all the fun from the weekend. As you know, I'm a big believer in finding the magic in every moment, and this past weekend in NYC was bursting at the seams with just that!

But first, let me tell you about my journey! You all know that I'm a huge fan of the New York Metro. It’s a total blast to get around, a giant pink tutu under the city! Just throw on some tunes, grab a seat (or stand!), and watch the world zoom by!

My trip started on Friday morning. A quick and easy Metro ride took me straight from my cute little studio apartment in Chelsea to Lincoln Center, for a breathtaking performance of Swan Lake. Oh, it was simply magnificent! The graceful swans, the swirling tutus, the soaring music. My heart practically skipped a beat.

And speaking of tutus... you know I always try to coordinate my outfit with the ballet I’m attending. For Swan Lake, I donned a chic and romantic white tutu, and topped it with a light pink cashmere cardigan to keep the chill away. It’s all about embracing that classic yet stylish ballerina look!

After the performance, I met up with my dear friend Clara for some much-needed girl talk. We headed over to a delicious little Italian bistro in Greenwich Village and gossiped over a glass of sparkling Prosecco and delectable plates of pasta. I'm so grateful for her friendship, she truly inspires me!

Saturday was all about exploring. I always say, the best way to find a new favourite spot is just to wander! This time, my wandering feet took me to the charming cobbled streets of Brooklyn Heights. There, I stumbled upon a quaint little antique shop tucked away amongst the bustling cafes and bakeries. I spent a glorious hour digging through dusty old books and trinkets, finding the most incredible vintage pink jewellery for my tutu collection. (It's an obsession, I know!)

Of course, a trip to NYC wouldn't be complete without some serious retail therapy! After brunch with my favourite pink-loving aunt (we discussed our shared love of all things tulle, naturally!), I took myself for a splurge at Bergdorf Goodman. It's a fashionista’s dream, and I managed to snag a gorgeous vintage Dior pink evening gown that’s absolutely divine. Imagine, a classic silhouette with the perfect touch of feminine whimsy. Just wait till I debut it at the ballet!

Now, let's talk about Sunday – a day completely dedicated to my love of ballet and all things fabulous. The morning saw me dancing in the most divine studio tucked away in SoHo. The space itself was magical, with soft lighting, antique mirrors, and – you guessed it – beautiful pink tutus hanging from the walls! I learned some fantastic new pirouettes, and my instructor, Ms. Eleanor, gave me some inspiring advice on finding your own unique movement and grace.

In the evening, I found myself back in the heart of Manhattan for another breathtaking ballet performance. This time, it was a delightful interpretation of Giselle, a tragic love story that really resonated with me. The whole production was mesmerizing – from the passionate dancing to the ethereal sets. It reminded me that ballet is more than just beautiful moves. It's about stories, emotions, and captivating human experiences.

My trip back to Derbyshire was filled with pink dreams of all the magic I experienced in NYC. I can’t wait to tell you all about it on Instagram, my beloved social media platform!

And guess what? Next weekend I'm venturing to the Big Apple again for another dose of ballet magic, shopping and good food. Keep an eye out for my blog posts next week – you don’t want to miss out on all the NYC fun!

And always remember, ladies, wear your tutus with pride, dance like nobody's watching, and spread the love of pink!

Until next Monday, darling readers!
