Now, let me confess something, darlings: New York City is like a magical dream come true. It’s like stepping into a fairytale with a whole new vocabulary. “Sidewalk”, "borough", "subway", “dollar pizza”... you get the idea! This city's charm and energy have stolen my heart from the first whiff of hotdog stands and Broadway shows. And the cherry on top of this magical cupcake? ? I'm here for a whole month, so get ready for a whole lot of pink-tutu-tastic adventures! ?
Speaking of cupcakes, today we're celebrating a special day, you see. 25th June - National Strawberry Shortcake Day! ?? To be honest, I think every day should be Strawberry Shortcake Day, but that's just my two cents worth. ?
To mark this sweet celebration, we're starting the day with a very special ballet class at a charming little studio tucked away on 5th Avenue, not far from a beautiful shop selling the most stunning pastel pink tulle, oh my goodness! You bet your bottom dollar, I treated myself to some glorious yards of pink fluff! ?
So here I am, post-ballet class, and oh, you have NO idea how perfectly my new tutu matches this gorgeous pink cotton candy sunset. The city's magical pink sky looks like it was created by the Fairy Godmother herself! ✨? You'd think I’d get tired of all this pink, but it just seems to brighten my day like a cup of freshly brewed Earl Grey tea on a rainy day!
After class, of course, we had to find a slice of delicious strawberry shortcake! And guess where we ended up? Yes, ladies, that's right! The famous Magnolia Bakery on Bleecker Street - where else?! Their cupcake are the stuff of dreams! And their strawberry shortcake... whispers… utterly heavenly.
Feeling light and fluffy, it's time for a leisurely stroll down Broadway. Let me tell you, darlings, New York City really comes alive at night! I spotted a charming street performer doing the most impressive interpretive ballet to some absolutely incredible street musicians. The city truly pulsates with talent, just waiting to be discovered. ?✨
And that's where our adventure ends, at least for today. But fear not! There’s so much more in store. New York, New York, A Pink Tutu Dream Come True! ??Speaking of my pink tutu, darling, you might be wondering: Where do I get my gorgeous pink tutus, anyway? I'm asked this all the time and the truth is, I often have to hunt them down!
For example, this gorgeous pale pink tutu I’m wearing in these photos was discovered in a quirky little boutique on West 4th Street - a shop called " Tutu Twirl"! The name was quite the giveaway, wouldn’t you say?! I am obsessed with that store. They also have a fabulous pink feather boa that is begging for a starring role in my next photoshoot!
Sometimes I source online, browsing through vintage and antique clothing sites, just you wait for a little sneaky preview I have lined up for you all next week! And let's not forget those big-name department stores; they do have some absolute gems tucked away on the higher floors, hidden amongst the furs and designer labels. Sometimes a bit of digging is required!

## New York in My Pink Tutu! ???It seems impossible that this is only day three in New York, already my “to-do” list seems longer than the subway queues I've been braving! The excitement is never ending here - a perfect mix of fast-paced chaos and serene moments, all in a day's work for a tutu-wearing blogger!
But let's rewind to last week's exciting happenings!
We had such a fantastic time at the Lincoln Center enjoying a stunning performance of “Swan Lake”. Oh my goodness, you HAVE to experience it, darlings! Watching the ballerinas pirouette and plié, dressed in magnificent tutus and tutus of their own, and listening to the orchestra in the vast theatre... I’ll be honest, I choked back a few tears! And of course, I have to say that my pink tutu - which had an especially fetching floral pattern and feathers to boot - blended in perfectly with the romantic and graceful world of “Swan Lake” itself. ?✨
Following a leisurely stroll through Central Park, enjoying a perfect cup of tea in the Bethesda Terrace, I felt quite the fashion inspiration strike! And so, what did we do? Why, headed straight to a rather fabulous little vintage clothing store in the East Village, called "The Glamorous Goose" of course! I simply HAD to buy a sparkly emerald green shrug for my tutu collection and a fabulously fluffy pink feather boa. It simply wasn't right that a girl who loves pink should not have a fabulous pink feather boa to her name.
You can’t talk about fashion and fun without talking about The Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met!). I mean, a must-see for every girl on holiday. The collection of exquisite gowns is just… unbelievable! There are even some incredible displays dedicated to fashion history! They truly have it all, from the elegant evening wear of the Victorian era to the modern masterpieces of our own times! I have never seen such elegance in one room in my life! ✨?
It would have been rude to leave without picking up a souvenir (or two). ? But don’t worry, it’s not more tutus… yet! I grabbed a beautiful handmade pink pearl necklace from the gift shop in the Met - I absolutely fell in love with the intricate details, it was too tempting!

## Fashion Finds in the Big Apple: ?️ Pink Shopping Paradise! ?️I truly believe, darlings, that every single city has a soul. A feeling, an identity, that makes it stand out from every other city on the planet. And New York? Well, it’s just plain fabulous. It’s a city overflowing with possibility. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever run out of things to see, things to buy, places to dance, in the whole city! ?
So this week I decided to go full on #PinkTutuNewYork! I even went so far as to have breakfast in my favourite pink tutu! What better place for a perfect brunch than “Cafe Loup” in Soho? ?? It's right by one of the cutest antique shops I’ve ever seen. Honestly, there was a vintage pair of pink tap shoes just calling my name, but my conscience managed to pull me away just in time! They really had my heart, my darling! And let me tell you, their coffee and croissants are truly exquisite. ☕️?
From the most exquisite shoes, the streets led me to my Pink Palace of Delight: “Pinkberry”! Yes, darling, you heard right! It was calling me, I swear. "Get me! Get me!" I’m not sure I even heard the voice but there I was, happily scoffing a bowl of frozen pink yogurt in all its glory. ?? I even topped it with rainbow sprinkles and an extravagant selection of candy. Honestly, the New York lifestyle is just irresistible.
I also just couldn't help but notice that pink is THE colour of New York right now! Honestly, every shop is stocked with the most lovely pastel shades! Oh! I just thought about it... My whole New York wardrobe should just be pink - every outfit! Every single day! That sounds so lovely, doesn’t it? ??
The highlight of my fashion tour? Oh, I simply must tell you about a vintage clothing store in the Lower East Side that just knocked my socks off! I have to say that “What Goes Around Comes Around” lives up to it’s name and more! ??? They have every vintage masterpiece you could possibly dream of, including a beautiful feather boa from the 1920s. Now that is going to make one fabulously fluffy pink tutu statement for my next evening out. ✨
I just had to treat myself to a beautiful pale blue tulle ballet skirt which just screamed ”ballet swan!” ?? and a fantastic vintage pink handbag, the ultimate pink purse for my tutu wardrobe! ? Now THAT is what I call **a Pink Tutu moment!! ??
## Dancing With the Stars (and a Pink Tutu) ! ? ✨Have you ever wanted to live in a fairytale? You know, surrounded by enchantment, twirling around in sparkling ballgowns? Or better still, you know what I would love, don't you?! *A whole evening out in the world of ballet! *?
Well, darlings, last night that dream came true as I headed to the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater! And what did I wear to my ballet-themed night out, you ask? Why, of course, a sparkly pink tutu! With a glamorous matching pink sequin top and the most perfect little black ballet flats.
The energy inside the Ailey theater was so vibrant, a total ballet buzz, darlings! We spent a captivating two hours completely mesmerized by the dancers, the music, and the costumes ... and the entire theater pulsated with life every single minute! The performance was a thrilling story woven through a beautiful dance and there were so many moving moments that left me breathless! Oh, and that fabulous music - it just stayed with me all night! ?
Honestly, I would never have thought that a whole night out devoted to ballet would have been that captivating - but now it's my latest favourite night time activity! And all I needed was a gorgeous pink tutu to complete the perfect outfit. Just try it and see what happens - trust me on this one! ?

I felt like a princess amongst all of the other amazing tutu queens, honestly! ?? And a special tribute to my fabulous pale pink feather boa. She did a stellar job of showing off her fluffiness. ?
I'd have to say that the event really got me in the mood for a fantastic midnight ballet performance in Central Park. Just imagine: a stage, spotlights lighting the most beautiful pink tutus, dancing beneath the stars. ✨
