Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post #89 - Saturday, 2001-09-08 - A Parisian Dream

Bonjour, mes chéries! It's Emma from the Pink Tutu Blog here, back from another amazing Parisian escapade. I just know you're all desperate to hear about this one - I'm positively bubbling over with excitement!

As always, I took the magical Eurostar journey to Paris. There's just something about being whisked away on those sleek, shiny trains that makes my heart sing. This time, I felt like I was on a set from a Parisian movie - chic, elegant, and brimming with romance. I felt my toes twitching for a twirl, and that's never a good sign, especially when surrounded by so many elegant French ladies.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the delicious picnic I packed. As a Derbyshire girl, I like to have a bit of something familiar when I travel. So, my trusty picnic basket contained crustless cucumber sandwiches (cucumber sandwiches are absolutely essential, I’m sure you all agree), miniature fruit tarts, a few delicate Earl Grey teacakes, and, of course, a bottle of sparkling rose. What’s a trip to Paris without a little celebratory bubbly, right?

My darling Tutu has been working hard - three stunning ballet performances in Sheffield last week, plus a little recital with my troupe in Derby, filled my pockets with enough pink notes to make this Parisian trip a dream! Paris has always held a special place in my heart - the architecture, the energy, the fashion
everything whispers "Pink Tutu". I've been counting down the days for this trip, dreaming of dancing along the Seine, indulging in decadent patisserie, and soaking in the fashion-forward atmosphere.

Bonjour, Fashion!

Speaking of fashion, you guys know I love to find treasures in every city I visit. And Paris is simply the epitome of elegance, chic, and flair! Of course, the shops along the Champs-ÉlysĂ©es were a must, but I found myself captivated by the boutiques in the charming streets around Montmartre. I even snagged a stunning vintage lace top, perfect for pairing with my latest pink tutu!

I even ventured to the charming Latin Quarter, where the student atmosphere was so vibrant. Imagine, twirling in a pink tutu through those cobblestone streets, past centuries-old buildings! Who says you can’t be both graceful and a bit of a rebel? (Okay, so maybe the Sorbonne wouldn’t be quite the right place for a spontaneous tutu ballet performance, but one can dream!)

A Day at the Opéra

Tonight's the highlight of my Paris visit: an evening at the Palais Garnier Opera House. I was fortunate to snag tickets to see a captivating performance of “Giselle”. It was absolutely divine! I was blown away by the talent, the artistry, and the passion that filled the entire room. After the show, I took a stroll down the Avenue de l’OpĂ©ra, my head buzzing with excitement and the elegance of the show still dancing in my mind. And I may or may not have bought a magnificent, feather-trimmed pink fascinator. You know how much I love a bit of whimsical extravagance!

The Magical Seine

To cap off my Parisian adventure, I took a dreamy evening cruise along the Seine. A slow drift under the Eiffel Tower lit with shimmering lights is the epitome of Parisian magic. The city lit up in twinkling hues, reflecting in the glassy water
I had my tutu at the ready and practically floated alongside the river bank with the other elegant ladies enjoying the cruise. I may have even squeezed in a spontaneous mini ballet routine at the bow of the boat. What can I say, Paris just inspires my creative spirit!

I truly hope you enjoyed joining me for a quick trip to Paris! I'm already planning my next adventure, and I'll be sure to share all the pink details with you here. Don’t forget to pop over to my website - www.pink-tutu.com - for more fun posts, ballerina fashion tips and updates on my upcoming performance schedule! Until next week, cheries
 Keep twirling, and keep dreaming!

And just remember - never underestimate the power of a pink tutu.

Bisous, Emma xx
