Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Post #102 - Saturday, 8th December 2001

Bonjour from the City of Lights!

It’s your girl, Emma, here, writing to you from the magical, mesmerising, utterly captivating city of Paris! I’ve always been obsessed with this city; it feels so effortlessly glamorous, romantic and, frankly, fabulous. My heart is literally doing pirouettes at the thought of all the pink tutus and stylish cafes, gorgeous gallerias and, of course, the legendary ballet shows. Oh la la!

This time, I made the journey on the Eurostar. I’m not going to lie, it’s become my new favourite mode of travel, almost as much as travelling by horse! The speed, the ease, the views whizzing past - I felt like a fairytale princess zipping through Europe, especially as my beautiful new pink tutu spun with the train’s rhythm!

I’m currently nestled in a lovely little hotel with a view of the Seine River and the Eiffel Tower. You see, this trip is all about the finer things, dear reader. We’re not just talking about ballet here, although that is a key element! We’re talking about enjoying every detail, savouring the little things. I want to bring a touch of the "Pink Tutu" magic to every aspect of the journey, from my morning croissants to the twinkle in my eye when I spot a cute little shop.

Day One: Ballet, Baguettes, and Boutiques

Let's get down to business, shall we? Today was a day for ballet and shopping. The highlight of the day, of course, was the incredible show at the Opéra Garnier. It was a performance of La Bayadère and oh, it was breathtaking. The costumes were absolutely divine – I can only imagine the amount of fabric and sequins! The music, the choreography, the skill – I was completely transported! It was enough to make any tutu-wearing dancer's heart flutter.

Afterwards, I treated myself to a delicious dinner at a traditional French restaurant – baguette, cheese, and wine, it's a classic combination. It truly felt like the perfect way to unwind after an enchanting evening. The perfect balance of art, culture, and of course, delicious food!

And the shopping? Oh my dear readers, the shopping. I’m a little obsessed. Every boutique I walked into was a delightful explosion of fashion. I even found the cutest little tutu shop, tucked away down a quiet alley! (Spoiler alert: I will be back for more!)

A Moment to Breathe:

Remember when I told you to enjoy the small things? I don't want this blog to feel like an overloaded fashion magazine or a relentless diary of activity! I want to create a space that feels personal, fun, and accessible. So, let's just take a moment to pause and appreciate the little things: the way the sun glints on the Seine, the aroma of fresh pastries wafting through the streets, the joyous sound of Parisian chatter. This is where the magic happens!

What's to Come:

This is just the beginning, my lovely pink-tutu-wearing friends. I have so much more planned:

  • More breathtaking ballet performances! We'll be heading to the Palais Garnier on Monday for a production of Giselle - I've heard it’s phenomenal!
  • Charming Parisian walks. Think cobblestone streets, grand architecture, and hopefully a horse-drawn carriage ride!
  • A delightful dose of Parisian culture! Museums, galleries, cafes, and, of course, more boutiques!

I can't wait to share more of my Parisian adventures with you. This city feels like a dream, a fairytale, and a fashion runway all wrapped up into one!

Until next Saturday, when we dive back into the wonders of Paris!

**XOXO,

Emma**
