Pink Tutu Blog - Paris! Post #210 - Saturday 3rd January 2004

Bonjour, darlings!

This week's post finds me back in Paris, my heart full of that quintessential Parisian magic, and of course, my feet tapping in anticipation of all the wonder that this city holds. This time, my journey was a true dream come true - travelling by EuroStar! Itā€™s such a fun, chic way to get to the City of Lights. You just slip into your fanciest outfit, sit back, relax, and watch the countryside flash by in a flurry of green fields and charming villages.

Now, Iā€™m sure youā€™re wondering - whatā€™s a Pink Tutu girl doing in Paris this week? Well, it's a secret project! wink I'm here on a top-secret mission (more on that next week!), but that's not all, darling. There's a new Ballet show at the Palais Garnier this month ā€“ ā€œLe Corsaire,ā€ and you can bet your bottom tutu I'll be seeing it! That legendary red-and-gold stage is a feast for the eyes. And, of course, no trip to Paris is complete without indulging in some haute couture and window-shopping! There's so much fashion inspiration swirling in the air, it practically makes me want to spin and twirl.

Saturdayā€™s Fun: Opera & Tutus

So, let me tell you all about Saturday, the day Iā€™m writing this post, you glamorous creatures! The day began in the most charming way possible ā€“ a leisurely stroll through the Luxembourg Gardens, soaking in the beautiful Parisian sunshine and watching children play amidst the manicured lawns and sparkling fountains. This city really does make me feel like Iā€™m living in a fairytale, doesn't it?

Then, the highlight of the day - a Ballet lesson at the most divine studio in Montmartre! Imagine this: a quaint little studio with Parisian-style wrought iron balconies, filled with the smell of oak floors and floral scents. A small group of lovely ballerinas, a few other eager enthusiasts like me, and an incredibly inspiring teacher - everything a true ballerina needs!

Of course, I wore my new tutu for this magical class, itā€™s a light, dreamy pink with delicate silver accents ā€“ a perfect complement to the elegant setting. The studio itself felt like a ballerina's haven, so I spent the afternoon enjoying every delicate pliĆ© and graceful tendu. It was utterly magical.

For a perfect end to this truly magical day, I booked tickets to the Paris Opera. Todayā€™s show is a real Parisian spectacle, ā€œRomeo & Julietteā€ at the Opera Garnier. Now, thatā€™s what I call a proper Saturday night! You can imagine how glamorous I feel, in a new dress and a beautiful pink tutu, feeling every bit the star of the show.

Pink & Paris: My Dream Dress for this Trip

I simply had to find a special dress to wear for all of this ballet brilliance. Itā€™s pink, naturally! What else would a Pink Tutu girl choose for a Paris adventure? Itā€™s a floaty silk number, with a flattering A-line skirt and delicate embroidery on the bodice. Itā€™s absolutely perfect for spinning around Parisian streets or the grand Palais Garnier ā€“ letā€™s face it, any Paris setting will make a tutu and a great dress look magnificent.

Paris Shopping: Fulfilling My Tutu Dreams

Speaking of pink, Iā€™ve been indulging in some seriously glamorous shopping these past few days. Have I mentioned that Paris has the best shopping ever? Imagine the biggest selection of the world's most beautiful clothing in one place! You know me ā€“ I can never resist a Parisian shop with charming displays, beautiful shop assistants, and a sprinkle of luxury!

One of the shops that really caught my eye was a quaint little boutique on Rue du Faubourg Saint-HonorĆ©, filled with breathtaking ballet accessories. I found myself utterly mesmerized by an entire display of sparkling, glitzy tiaras that made me feel like I was in a fairytale. But the real showstopper was this stunning pink tutu, adorned with hand-sewn flowers and sparkling sequins ā€“ I think it might be my new favorite! Of course, I couldnā€™t leave without trying it on and spinning in front of the mirror. It just felt like magic! It felt like a brand new adventure had started, one step closer to my goal of getting everyone to wear a pink tutu!
