#PinkTutuBlogParis: Post #272 - Parisian Whirlwind!

Bonjour, darlings! Emma here, your resident pink tutu aficionado, writing to you live from the City of Lights - Paris! As you know, this little ballerina has been dreaming of this trip for ages, and let me tell you, it’s even more magical than I imagined. This week’s #PinkTutuBlogParis post is a little longer than usual because, well, I just had to share every single delightful detail.

The journey itself was a fairy tale. We hopped on the Eurostar, my trusty pink tutu swirling around me, of course. It’s all about making even the simplest things an adventure! I love the sense of magic a train ride holds, whizzing through the countryside with my head in a book and my dreams swirling like a pirouette. The Eurostar’s comfortable seats are perfect for sketching out potential tutu-wearing looks for Parisian strolls. And wouldn’t you know it, my muse, Paris, presented me with the most dazzling inspiration just as we arrived!

Paris truly is the capital of style. The moment I stepped off the train, I was whisked into a world of vibrant fashion and chic Parisians, all seemingly dressed with effortless flair. Speaking of flair, imagine my delight when I stumbled upon a street performer who was also sporting a pink tutu! I immediately gave her a huge hug and, in my best French accent, complimented her on her graceful performance. We shared a laugh and she told me her story – she was a young ballet dancer struggling to make her way in Paris, using her talent to earn a little money.

As a fellow dreamer, her story just solidified my determination to make tutu-wearing mainstream, and what better place to start than Paris, the world’s fashion epicentre! I may be a little bit biased, but I genuinely think that a pink tutu adds a touch of magic to any occasion – imagine how fab they’d look on the next Parisian fashionista, even more Parisian than they already are!

Fashion finds

It wouldn’t be a #PinkTutuBlogParis post without a mention of all the incredible shopping opportunities. Oh, Paris, how you’ve spoiled me with your charming boutiques! My little tutu-clad feet have barely stopped exploring, flitting from one chic window display to another. I even found a darling pink beret that matches my latest tutu creation perfectly. Imagine the adorable photos! I swear, every single boutique I entered was a pink tutu-lovers paradise. I spotted vintage hats that could double as my own ballet stage props, and so many gorgeous floral prints, just perfect for those fairytale tea parties I imagine taking place at my London flat.

Bonjour Ballet

But of course, no trip to Paris would be complete without indulging in a little bit of ballet. After a quick stop at my Parisian hotel (with the most breathtaking view from my window, I might add!), I rushed off to a beautiful theatre in the heart of Paris for a captivating ballet performance. The performance was pure magic. The dancers were so graceful, so expressive, every pirouette and leap felt like a story unfolding before my very eyes. The elegant setting of the theatre, the shimmering stage lights, and the intoxicating music – I was completely captivated. Honestly, the pink tutu might just be a tad less sparkly than the ballet costumes themselves, but at least I know it wouldn’t get in the way of a lovely plie!

La vie en rose

The highlight of the week though, had to be that special ballet class I found near the Seine. Can you believe they offered a ‘Tutu Tuesdays’ class for beginners?! So naturally, I couldn’t resist a little waltz in my favourite pink tutu, of course. The teacher, a woman who embodied Parisian grace, welcomed me with open arms and a knowing smile. Her instructions were gentle yet firm, and as I twirled and leaped alongside the other students, I felt so alive. The class itself was as much about the beauty of the ballet as it was about the joy of being present.

But, Paris is much more than just shopping, fashion, and ballet – although I have to say, those elements make for a perfect week in this glamorous city. Evenings, filled with the aroma of croissants and freshly brewed coffee, found me strolling along the cobblestone streets, taking in the vibrant city life. Paris really is a city that never sleeps, its energy is electric, filled with so much passion, laughter, and creativity. It was here that my pink tutu journey began to feel complete. It felt as if all the colours, flavours, and elegance that define this beautiful city were woven into the delicate fabric of my tulle skirt.

So there you have it, my darlings, another whirlwind week in Paris, full of unforgettable experiences, enchanting sights, and a whole lot of pink! I can't wait to share more adventures with you next week. Au revoir for now, and don’t forget to keep your pink tutus twirling!

Love,

Emma

P.S.

I have to share a special memory with you. One afternoon, while enjoying a delicious baguette sandwich by the Seine, a group of children stopped to admire my tutu. One little girl, with eyes full of wonder, even asked me if I was a real-life fairy! I swear, you’d have to see her reaction. Pure glee, radiating pure innocence. In that moment, I felt the weight of my pink tutu – not literally, it’s remarkably light, haha, but its impact on everyone around me. I saw not only admiration but joy, imagination, and wonder! Maybe this pink tutu obsession really is making a difference, maybe I’m spreading a little magic through each swirl, one tutus at a time! And just think, if even children can appreciate my little fashion revolution, then I know anything is possible!
