Pink Tutu Blog: Paris - Post #298 🩰🗼
Bonjour mes chéries!
It's Saturday, 10th September, 2005, and I'm absolutely buzzing to be writing to you all from the City of Lights – Paris! 🇫🇷 It feels so surreal to be here, swirling around the streets of Montmartre in my favourite pink tulle tutu.
This is the first time I've travelled outside the UK. To be honest, I was slightly nervous about leaving Derbyshire. It was a rather big leap of faith. But it's an incredible adventure, and I simply cannot resist the call of such an iconic, fashion-forward city.
For the uninitiated (don't worry, it's only a short EuroStar ride to get here), Paris is one of the most stylish places on the planet. And that's what truly calls to me - fashion! My little heart was practically bursting during the journey, imagining myself on the catwalk of one of the Parisian Haute Couture fashion shows. The whole journey on Eurostar felt magical!
The first few days have been utterly dreamy! My current wardrobe, you'll be delighted to know, consists of all the most gorgeous pinks you could imagine! I even found a pair of chic little ballet shoes that are the perfect shade to match my tutu! My mission, of course, is to try and integrate them with a few vintage pieces I picked up on Rue de Rivoli. I even found a beautiful pair of fuchsia-toned opera gloves that I can’t wait to try out.
But, Paris isn't just about fashion. Oh, no! There's so much more to experience, and I've just got to share my experiences with you lovely people. I have a hunch you might like it…
Paris Through Pink-Tinted LensesOn Thursday, after settling into a charming little hotel (with an adorable, balcony overlooking the Seine), I set off for the Palais Garnier - home of the iconic Paris Opera! I even found some ballet flats in the exact same shade as my tutu! I could barely contain my excitement as we went to see a show - it was absolutely breathtaking! It’s amazing how this wonderful, enchanting place allows for so much imagination and creativity. The energy in the theater was palpable, and I just had to twirl around afterwards to celebrate all that glorious creativity!
On Friday, I spent the entire day browsing through the amazing boutiques along the Champs-Élysées. I'm totally obsessed with all the chic French designers. I picked up a gorgeous pink silk scarf with delicate floral patterns (perfect for accentuating my new tutu). I swear, this scarf has to be my new favourite accessory! It has a certain je ne sais quoi about it, don’t you think?
And, just when you think I couldn't possibly fit anymore adventures into one day, we went to the Grand Palais - for the Grands Ateliers fashion exhibition! It's basically a huge, vibrant space dedicated to everything couture. It's just so inspiring! As a budding ballet performer and a style enthusiast, I truly found it magical! It was like being in a fantasyland of fabrics and designs. It was so, so vibrant!
As for my little ballerina adventures... well, I found the most enchanting little studio on the banks of the Seine. I just HAD to stop in for a quick session, naturally, to perfect my moves and really soak up all the Paris energy.
Now, as for the rest of my Parisian adventures, I've got an amazing ballet performance booked at the Opera Garnier on Monday - which I'll be sharing with you all on my next post. I also plan on visiting the Louvre Museum and getting lost in the amazing architecture of the Eiffel Tower. I might even try my luck at the flea market for some authentic Parisian finds.
And of course, my favourite pastime – taking lots of gorgeous pictures! You know I couldn’t possibly come to Paris and not immortalize these moments through my trusty camera, complete with a few cheeky pictures of myself twirling in my pink tutu! I've already gotten so many compliments! My ultimate aim is to get Paris to embrace pink tutu chic!
But until next Saturday, I hope you're all enjoying this Parisian adventure with me. I can't wait to share even more with you all soon!
Au revoir!
Lots of pink tulle love,
Emma 🩰💕
Side note! ##Remember you can catch all the details of my Parisian escapades (and even a sneak peek at some amazing pink-tutu inspired looks) on the www.pink-tutu.com website!
I’ve even added a little gallery featuring a few shots from my visit to the Grands Ateliers – which has given me endless inspiration for a few upcoming projects I have planned.
This adventure is already one for the books, and I’m really just getting started! Stay tuned for next week’s post, which is packed with an exclusive interview with a fabulous fashion designer!
Bisous mes chéries, Emma 💕
