#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post 415 - Saturday, December 8th 2007 - A Parisian Dream in Pink!

Bonjour mes amies!

It’s Emma here, back from my whirlwind trip to Paris! Oh, darling, Paris never fails to amaze me! It’s like stepping into a romantic novel, with its cobbled streets, charming cafes and that unmistakable Parisian je ne sais quoi. Of course, I made sure my tutu was packed for this special journey – a gorgeous bubblegum pink confection that just screamed Paris chic!

I hopped on the Eurostar from Derbyshire (yes, even the train journey felt glamorous, what with all the buttery croissants and strong French coffee!). A couple of hours later, I was being greeted by the Eiffel Tower itself, a breathtaking steel silhouette against the cerulean sky.

As I’m sure you know, a visit to Paris just wouldn’t be complete without a little bit of ballet. My first stop? The Palais Garnier, the iconic opera house. Imagine this: magnificent golden decor, swirling chandeliers, and me, in my pink tutu, twirling my way through the elegant crowds, feeling like a real princess! I saw a sublime production of Swan Lake, the ethereal dancing perfectly mirroring the beauty of Paris itself.

Speaking of twirling, I simply had to visit the famed École de Danse. I can't even begin to describe how inspiring it was to see these talented young ballerinas train! They moved with such grace and fluidity; it made me want to get right back in the studio! Who knows, perhaps next week’s blog post will feature some dance moves I picked up in Paris – we can all work on getting our pliés perfect together!

Now, darling, no trip to Paris would be complete without a little retail therapy! I fell in love with the boutique streets around Saint-Germain-des-Prés – cobblestone streets overflowing with vintage stores and charming Parisian boutiques. You bet I picked up some fabulous accessories and a chic little hat – after all, one cannot forget the importance of a good headpiece to top off the perfect ballerina look.

Oh, and can we talk about the food?! It truly is the most heavenly cuisine in the world. Croissants that melt in your mouth, delectable cheeses, and those delectable, little French patisseries – all enjoyed while people-watching at a chic cafe, of course. A ballet girl can’t just eat in a hotel room!

And let’s not forget about the sights! I saw the Mona Lisa (surprisingly tiny, but just as captivating as everyone says!) in the Louvre. Took a romantic stroll along the Seine, even bought a little souvenir for you (shhh, it's a secret!). You know, darling, I even felt inspired to take up street dancing. Imagine the Parisian streets, a Parisian sky, my pink tutu, a few beautiful ballerinas, all dancing in the heart of this enchanting city... It almost brought tears to my eyes, it was so beautiful.

Paris is the city that dreams are made of, you truly must go at least once. In fact, let’s all plan a little Pink Tutu Tour! Imagine, all of us wearing our own pink tutus, wandering the cobblestone streets of Paris, snapping pictures and spreading a little bit of pink tutu magic along the way!

Before I leave you, let me leave you with one of my favourite quotes from the French playwright Edmond Rostand, who wrote "Cyrano de Bergerac". He wrote: "What is the ultimate thing in life? To stand in awe before beauty". Paris was a true gift. It is indeed awe inspiring!

Now, darlings, let’s all channel our inner Parisian ballerinas and spread the love!

Love,

Emma
