Pink Tutu Blog Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #437)
Oh, darling! Can you believe it's Saturday already? Where does the time go? Feels like only yesterday I was twirling across the stage in Nottingham, my pink tutu billowing in the spotlight, and now here I am, sipping a cafe au lait in the most glamorous city in the world!
Paris, oh Paris! It really is everything I dreamt it would be and more. The cobblestone streets, the charming cafes, the chic boutiques, the art, the cultureā¦ everything is so beautiful and romantic! I can't help but twirl a little extra when I walk along the Seine, just so I can feel the magic of it all!
Speaking of twirling, I have been hitting the dance floors, or shall I say, dance streets! Parisian ballet fans are definitely keeping things fresh with their style. Thereās street performance, Ballet-on-the-Go they call it, all over the city, where street performers dress up in full costumes, just like me! I was even invited to perform with a local ballet troupe for a public performance at the foot of the Eiffel Tower last night ā what an honour! Theyāve given me a taste of what itās like to be a Parisian ballerina and, darling, let me tell you, itās fabulous.
But before we delve deeper into my Parisian adventures, letās talk about the journey, shall we?
My Eurostar journey was, as always, a dreamy affair! I've become quite the Eurostar aficionado since I started travelling for my blog, so much so, I think they probably know my usual order now: āTea and a croissant, darling! The tastiest!ā I just canāt resist a good pastry, and it just wouldnāt be a journey to Paris without one.
Speaking of pastry, darling, you know me and my pink tutuā¦ It always has to travel in style! This time, I brought my trusty āPink Cloudā tote bag with me ā filled with my favourite tutu-loving accessories and snacks! My essential kit, my love! After all, every adventure requires a bit of glitter, darling.
And while Iām on the topic of shopping, oh honey! You canāt go to Paris without going shopping! The beautiful clothes, the stunning accessories, the perfumeā¦ oh, itās simply heavenly! I already found some absolutely fabulous pink dresses, a beautiful pink feathered hat for the next performance (think a Parisian twist on a vintage ballerina look ā trĆ©s chic!), and even a delicate pink tutu that is absolutely begging to be twirled in the courtyard of the Louvre.
I must confess, I might have splurged a bit on my way back from the train station, and popped into a gorgeous little shop full of vintage dresses! Darling, you know me ā I can't resist a good vintage find! It's funny because it reminded me so much of my home town in Derbyshire. So quaint, charming, and bursting with treasures! Except with the vintage dresses, I'd say it was just a tiny bit more stylish here in Paris. But don't worry darling, I found a fabulous pink tulle gown that looks straight out of a fairytale and a stunning red sequinned top that I think will look just divine with my pink tutu.
And the food? Darling! It is absolutely divine. Thereās not a moment where you can't find a cafe, a boulangerie or a street vendor serving the most delicious food, freshly baked, warm and inviting. Every street corner smells of freshly baked bread and thereās something truly magical about it. I can't seem to resist trying a new pastry every day, even if it means wearing an extra large tutu the following day! Oh, darling! You really must try the āCrĆØme BrĆ»lĆ©eā here in Parisā¦ it is seriously a Parisian dream!
Yesterday was just pure magic. The Palais Garnier opera house is absolutely breathtaking! Itās even grander in person than it is in pictures! I got to watch the āNutcrackerā in such an exquisite setting, with beautiful costumes and captivating dancers. I couldnāt resist humming along with the musicā¦ Even though, darling, my favourite is always Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, I canāt help but love how the Ballet works such magic with both classical and contemporary scores.
So far, darling, my Paris trip is like a dream! It is bursting with Parisian romance and ballet beauty. Oh darling! Iāve fallen in love with this city! You have to visit it if you ever get the chance.
Iāll leave you with this - if you can find yourself a moment of serenity and enjoy a nice cafe au lait and a pastry in a sun-drenched Parisian cafe. I bet itāll make your day just a little bit brighter.
Until next week darling!
Much love,
Emma
P.S. Don't forget to wear your pink tutu! You can even try a Parisian twist on the look! I saw some of the most beautiful girls dancing around here in Paris with some vintage Parisian twists on the Pink Tutu Look. It's simply enchanting. And darling! If you canāt find one, get one for your little girl - sheād be so happy! Spread the Pink Tutu Love, my darlings!
