#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #463: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Saturday 2008-11-08)

Oh là là! My darlings, guess where I am? That's right, I'm in Paris! I just arrived by Eurostar and, let me tell you, the journey was as delightful as ever. I felt like a Parisian ballerina straight out of a fairytale.

After all, nothing quite beats a train journey to get the imagination flowing. The whizzing landscape, the gentle swaying, the chatter of other passengers, it all conjures up a feeling of magic. And this time, the magic was amplified tenfold because... drumroll ... I was heading to the City of Love!

I swear, Paris just holds a special place in my heart. It's the city where elegance and beauty meet, where the cobblestones sing under your shoes, and where the air whispers "you can wear pink if you want!" You simply must take a trip to the capital if you haven't already.

So, what have I got in store for you this week?

Firstly, let me show off my Parisian wardrobe, darling! I had to dress the part for the journey, and nothing could do the trick quite like a beautiful, blush pink dress and, of course, my trusty tutu!

It's a true pink paradise, this trip! Think chic boutiques with their delicate silk blouses and tulle skirts, overflowing vintage shops bursting with colours, and endless opportunities to indulge in delicious patisserie (especially the macarons – you haven't really been to Paris until you've sampled one!).

I already started my shopping spree with a couple of purchases in London at Eurostar before arriving! I'm sure this trip will have me spending far too much, but who cares when you're in Paris? This week's adventures will be dedicated to indulging in all things fabulous, including of course, ballet. You know I can't resist a show or two.

* Speaking of ballet…*

Did you know today's the day that we celebrate the International Day of Ballet?! This is such a fitting day to be here, amidst all the magic and creativity. I'm actually planning to check out a performance at the Palais Garnier, a true masterpiece of Parisian architecture. The setting alone will be worth every euro!

Paris always draws me in with its theatrical flair. Imagine waltzing down the Champs-Élysées with the twinkling lights as your backdrop, or taking a stroll in Montmartre where every street corner holds a little story to unfold. It’s pure romance!

On my list for this trip…

  • Catch a show at the Palais Garnier and report back on the beauty of the performance and the iconic architecture
  • Go shopping for my dream tutu on the Champs-Élysées - perhaps a fluffy pink number, perfect for twirling on the cobblestone streets!
  • Savor some authentic French food - crêpes, macarons, and, of course, lots and lots of pastries!
  • Admire the views from the Eiffel Tower, a quintessential Parisian experience!

This weekend is also about letting loose. The city calls for carefree twirls, laughter, and sharing good times with friends and family (hopefully finding new ones, too!). So, keep checking back in every Saturday, my loves!

I’ll be spilling the secrets of my Parisian escapades and showing off some gorgeous fashion picks. What’s your favourite Parisian tradition? Let me know in the comments below, I’m dying to discover all the little treasures the City of Lights has to offer!

Remember, a tutu is a powerful tool. Wear it with pride!
