#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #491 - Saturday 2009-05-23: Paris, Je T'aime!
Hello darlings! It's your favourite pink-loving, tutu-wearing travel blogger, Emma, back with another installment of my #PinkTutuBlogParis adventures.
This week, I'm finally in Paris! It’s been a dream of mine to visit this enchanting city since I was a little girl, and I’m thrilled to be living out that dream. As soon as I set foot on the platform at Gare du Nord, I could practically feel the Parisian magic washing over me.
It's all thanks to the wonder that is EuroStar! Who could ask for a more glamorous and efficient way to travel from dear old Derbyshire? It’s almost like stepping into a private jet - sleek, spacious and so chic, even I managed to refrain from wearing my favourite pink tutu onboard (though it was tempting, I confess). I packed a couple of lovely floral dresses in my suitcase, knowing Paris calls for a touch of romance and a dash of the whimsical.
Now, where do I start? I'm brimming with excitement and stories, so I’ll try to keep this post as light and sparkly as a ballerina’s pointe shoe!
Le Train:
The Eurostar was a truly blissful journey. The comfortable carriages, the soothing sound of the train gliding across the tracks, and, let's not forget, the scrumptious pastries in the bistro carriage! I must have devoured half a dozen chocolate croissants. My ballet teacher would be appalled at all that sugar!
The Parisian Scene:
As soon as we emerged from Gare du Nord, I could feel the electric energy of Paris coursing through the streets. There were cobbled streets with charming cafes overflowing with laughter and chatter, shop windows overflowing with colourful delights, and a palpable sense of Parisian joie de vivre!
The Perfect Ballet Ensemble:
And of course, no trip to Paris is complete without a perfect ballerina-inspired ensemble. I wore a graceful ivory ballerina skirt, which fluttered in the wind as I twirled around, feeling like I was straight out of Swan Lake. I paired it with a pastel pink lace top, which felt both feminine and Parisian, and completed the look with some pearl earrings and my favourite ballerina flats - a must-have for any ballerina-chic fashionista.
Exploring the City of Lights:
The first stop was the magnificent Louvre Museum. Honestly, who hasn't been awestruck by the Mona Lisa’s enigmatic smile? The artwork in the Louvre truly felt alive and filled with stories. I could have spent days lost in its captivating galleries, but, alas, there was so much more to discover in this dazzling city!
A Symphony of Tutus and Theatre:
Tonight, I am off to see a performance of Swan Lake at the Opéra Garnier. It’s a dream come true to be seeing a classical ballet performance in such a magnificent theatre! I'm a big fan of classical ballet and I adore the artistry, athleticism and grace of the dancers. Plus, seeing Swan Lake in Paris…what more could I ask for?
Shopping Spree:
I am so looking forward to some Parisian shopping. I heard about a fantastic little vintage shop that’s famous for its elegant lace and tulle creations - the perfect additions for a pink tutu wardrobe! Paris is practically designed for ballet-themed shopping, with its charming vintage boutiques and high-end fashion houses. It’s every ballerina’s fashion heaven.
And... A Pinch of Pink
Speaking of my favourite colour, my suitcase is packed to the brim with all the pinkest outfits I could find! Paris is calling for all things feminine and dreamy, and my pink tutu outfits are the perfect companions for exploring this enchanting city.
And wouldn't it be lovely to see all the Parisians rocking pink tutus as they waltz through their day? Can you imagine a more adorable Parisian fashion scene? That’s what I hope to inspire: for everyone, everywhere, to embrace their inner ballerina!
That’s all for this week! Check in next Saturday for more #PinkTutuBlogParis adventures. I’ll share more exciting sights and sounds, perhaps a glimpse into my ballerina shopping finds, and hopefully, some adorable Parisian photos. Au revoir!
