Bonjour, my lovely pink tutu fans! Emma here, reporting live from the City of Lights, Paris! I finally made it! After weeks of planning, packing (and a cheeky bit of pre-trip tutu shopping, of course!), I'm officially in Paris. I’m absolutely giddy, like a sugarplum princess on a magic carpet ride!
The journey over was an absolute dream! I just love a good train trip. The EuroStar zipped me over in a flash. A real pink tutu-worthy moment was getting all my bags into the luggage rack and feeling so glam sitting back, watching the countryside fly by. It was the perfect setting to admire my latest Pink Tutu purchase: a divine pink cashmere scarf, which is the softest thing I've ever felt. And oh, it looks divine with my signature pink tutu! I was determined to be the most glamorous passenger on that train, even if it meant having a quick outfit change in the toilets before we left the station!
Arriving in Gare du Nord was quite an experience. It was so big and grand, and buzzing with life. There was a real energy in the air. I spotted a lovely café next to the station where I settled down for some seriously decadent French pastries and a cappuccino – definitely worth the price to be sitting with the locals and enjoying the Parisian vibe. I think it's very important to soak in the atmosphere whenever I travel and not just rush around hitting the tourist traps!
Ballet Heaven
This trip has been on my mind for ages, you guys. I can't believe it's finally happening! I’m on a mission to see the best that Paris has to offer in terms of ballet. The highlight of this trip has to be seeing Giselle at the Opéra Garnier, you guys! What an experience! The Opéra Garnier itself is something out of a dream, all gold and velvet and magnificent chandeliers. And the performance… it took my breath away! Every single detail was stunning – from the costumes to the set to the amazing dancers themselves! It just showed how incredible the craft of ballet really is, you know? It was an honour to watch those artists on stage. It was magical.
Afterwards, I felt completely inspired! The city, the ballet... I’ve just had a serious pink tutu moment of inspiration. My Paris blog posts for the next few weeks are already shaping up! I just know you’ll all be loving these pink tutu Paris updates. I even managed to fit in a ballet class in a lovely studio in Montmartre, where the local dancers showed me a few moves. They were all so welcoming! I might have even gotten them to try on my pink tutu for a photo! It’s going to take a little while for that memory to fade.
Parisian Shopping and Pink Tutu Treats
There’s been a whole lot of exploring and indulging going on too, of course! Who can visit Paris without shopping? And my aim in Paris? Well, it's definitely to fill my suitcase with enough gorgeous new pink-tutu-worthy fashion items to keep me going until my next trip!
On day one, I wandered around the famous Le Marais district and just got lost in the colourful boutiques. The cobbled streets were a joy to walk on. And those Parisian window displays, so chic! There were shops brimming with all sorts of amazing fashion finds. I spent an hour just dreaming about a sparkling new Pink Tutu bag! And that gorgeous boutique on Rue de Rivoli that was filled with elegant fabrics for my next costume - divine. And don’t even get me started on the gorgeous pink shoes and sparkly tops I found on my first trip down the Champs Elysees! Oh la la!
It’s been great getting inspiration for my Pink Tutu looks, too! Paris is a true wonderland for ballet-loving girls who adore a pink tutu.
There's also been plenty of delicious French cuisine, and lots of café au lait with a touch of sugar. Oh, and the croissants... so fluffy! They just melt in your mouth. I feel as though I’ve already discovered more cafes than anyone should possibly be able to in a few days! It's the perfect mix of classic French fare, fresh pastry and chic bistros.
Pink Tutu Fashion Inspiration
There are so many pink tutu opportunities in this fabulous city! You just can’t escape the inspiration in the city of Paris! Even the architecture has an air of a tutu-wearing princess! Just imagine a pink tutu-loving princess stepping off a royal carriage in a city full of graceful ballet dancers - and it doesn't even need a single white swan or fairy tale! Just you, a pink tutu and Paris!
The streets are so beautifully laid out, full of character and gorgeous street art. I feel like the backdrop to my Instagram feed is just ready-made for a fantastic photo shoot! The cobblestone streets look divine in the early morning sun, the Eiffel Tower glistening behind a sea of shops - perfect for a pink tutu-clad ballerina photo opportunity! Paris truly is a paradise for a Pink Tutu blogger, I think. I’m still trying to absorb every beautiful detail. Every street corner, every building, even the local bus stop – they just shout out ‘Pink Tutu!’ Paris, you've completely captured my imagination.
The Pink Tutu and the Eiffel Tower
It would be absolutely crazy to be in Paris and not visit the Eiffel Tower. Let’s be honest - if it’s not on your to-do list, you are in serious need of a Pink Tutu trip planning meeting. It was on my bucket list for years! This past week, I went on the first afternoon I had off after the ballet show, You can really feel the energy there. I'll admit I might have done a little impromptu pirouette while standing at the bottom of the Tower! It felt quite liberating, doing a twirl while a thousand Parisian onlookers went about their day, Completely surreal!
There's just something about standing there, looking out at the city lights at sunset with your favourite Pink Tutu on - it makes you feel like you're part of something amazing. And don’t even get me started on the view from the top! That moment at the top of the Eiffel Tower, standing in a glorious pink tutu... that was one of the pinkest tutu moments I’ve had on this trip, I’m sure! Every moment on this trip is truly pink tutu worthy!
