Pink Tutu Blog - Paris #673: Whirlwind Weekend in the City of Lights
Bonjour, darlings!
It's Saturday, the 17th of November, and I'm writing to you from the heart of Paris, feeling like a proper Parisian. I know I say that every time I come here, but Paris never fails to work its magic. And honestly, wouldn't you feel the same way rocking a pink tutu in the city of lights?
It feels like a dream - every corner of this city is overflowing with elegance and artistry. As I twirl through the charming cobblestone streets, I can't help but feel like a character stepping out of a fairytale, especially with this pink tutu taking center stage. 😉
Speaking of fairytales, this week I achieved my ultimate travel dream: I travelled to Paris by Eurostar! Can you believe it?! My darling friend, Olivia, even came along for the adventure, making the journey even more special. Imagine two tutus gliding across the Channel, all smiles and giggles. Just picture it, darlings! It was a truly delightful experience.
The reason I'm in the City of Lights, you ask? Why, it's because my ballerina talents, coupled with a sprinkle of pink tutu magic, have landed me another opportunity to showcase my graceful moves at a fabulous event. The grand Parisian Opera House, the Palais Garnier - can you believe it? I'll be performing an enchanting solo to the sound of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake - cue the swooning! 🦢✨
But, this trip isn't just about performing. Oh no! It's also about discovering the magic that Paris has to offer, of course, in a pink tutu. Just imagine me exploring the city of love and all its captivating corners. My camera is already filled with pictures of the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower and, my personal favourite, the Notre Dame cathedral. It’s no wonder this city inspires artists!
And you know what else? You wouldn’t believe the shopping I’ve managed to squeeze in. I’ve found the most beautiful ballet shoes – perfectly pink, of course – in the Latin Quarter, and stumbled upon a vintage hat shop brimming with treasures in Montmartre. A new hat, in the colours of Paris? A Parisian princess can’t resist! 👒💖
Of course, my pink tutu isn't just about fashion - it's about my love for the performing arts! Tonight, I'm off to catch a breathtaking ballet performance at the Theatre des Champs-Élysées. Oh, how I adore a classic ballet! 🩰💃
Paris really is an incredible melting pot of culture and artistry, and I can’t wait to share even more with you all. I’m so excited to see what tomorrow brings! After all, every day in Paris is an opportunity to explore, discover, and, of course, to twirl in my favourite pink tutu!
Until next week, darlings,
Love and twirls,
Emma xx
P.S. Did you know, 17th of November is International Students’ Day?! Now I really am living my best life, soaking in all this inspiration and discovering new things - that’s why it’s such a treat to share this incredible adventure with you. ❤️

Behind the Pink Tutu - Paris DiariesOh, darlings, you just wouldn’t believe the joy I felt stepping off the Eurostar train and into Gare du Nord. The city hummed with a vibrant energy, and I could already feel its captivating pull! Olivia and I rushed through the bustling streets, giddy as can be, excited for all the adventures awaiting.
First stop? A truly Parisian delight - Le Café de la Paix. Imagine sipping espresso beneath an elegant awning, nestled amongst the grandeur of the Opera House! I couldn’t resist capturing the moment, so, naturally, we did a little twirl under the cafe’s iconic signage, complete with my oh-so-pink tutu. Parisian memories for the books!
Afterward, Olivia and I decided to immerse ourselves in the essence of Parisian life. You know, strolling down the famous Avenue des Champs-Élysées, where the charm of elegant shops and chic cafés intertwined seamlessly with the buzzing atmosphere of Paris. This charming Parisian haven seemed to transport me into a timeless world of art and beauty.
The real Parisian adventures started later in the day, as we headed to Montmartre, the artists' district. You won’t believe it, darling! We saw so many talented artists working on the streets, creating breathtaking sketches and oil paintings. My eyes truly feasted on the beauty of it all. It’s as if the streets of Montmartre became a living, breathing canvas!
We explored the charming cafes and small art shops lining the slopes of Montmartre, eventually reaching Sacré-Coeur, the dazzling basilica at the summit. This panoramic view was breathtaking! It’s a truly breathtaking spot with incredible views over Paris – the most gorgeous panorama you’ll ever see! As the city lit up with its magic glow, we decided it was the perfect time to indulge in the Parisian charm with a delectable croissant, or perhaps, two, from the adorable local boulangerie, right next to a delightful antique shop filled with treasures – some even vintage ballet accessories. 🥐🩰
We wrapped up the evening with a beautiful evening stroll through the magical Tuileries Garden. You know how much I love those magical old parks! We even sat under the moonlight, amidst the beautifully lit trees, discussing everything from ballet dreams to our newest tutu finds. The Tuileries Garden really had that Parisian charm - and the perfect spot for my Instagram shots. 😉
Oh, my darlings, these are just glimpses of my pink-tutu Parisian adventures so far! It's been magical! And wait till I tell you about my experience at the Opera House - stay tuned! 💋
The Parisian Ballerina DiariesImagine me, standing centre stage at the Palais Garnier! With the beautiful chandeliers illuminating my shimmering pink tutu, my heart thrumming with a mixture of anticipation and excitement. The silence was broken as the music started, and I danced like a dream. Every gesture, every pose, infused with the sheer passion and beauty of this captivating city. ✨💖
This grand Parisian opera house is a truly iconic landmark, filled with stories, with the echoes of countless artistic masterpieces echoing within its magnificent halls. Dancing at the Palais Garnier was a dream come true, and I know this is just the beginning of an exciting journey. I'll keep you updated, darlings!
I was fortunate to explore this glorious landmark after my performance. I simply had to take a glimpse of the opulent theatre from every possible angle, soaking in the sheer magnificence of the golden halls and the grandeur of the grand staircase. It’s simply breathtaking!
Speaking of glamour, the Parisian ballet scene is truly exhilarating! And, to my joy, Olivia and I caught a dazzling ballet show at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées - truly a glamorous evening filled with elegant artistry! The costumes, the storytelling through the choreography – pure ballet bliss! We even got to see some renowned international ballerinas grace the stage – a truly unforgettable night. ✨
I even spotted some incredible Ballet Street performers throughout the city – they seemed to transform the Parisian streets into living stages. This enchanting performance art mesmerized me, as it incorporated ballet and theatre in a thrilling urban spectacle. One moment I was mesmerised by a dazzling solo beneath the Eiffel Tower, the next moment a passionate duo was sweeping me away near the Tuileries Garden.
But the real treasure hunt started during our day trip to Fontainebleau Palace, darling. The Chateau de Fontainebleau was magnificent, full of regal halls and historic treasures! This breathtaking architecture transported me back in time. Imagine, waltzing through these halls and seeing these stunning displays of power and history – it was almost surreal! The Palace is such a gorgeous, dreamy and elegant destination, filled with Parisian beauty and history - and a great excuse to get back into a pink tutu for photoshoots, darling.
Olivia, ever the charming companion, was full of fun as we explored, laughing about the perfect photo op by the iconic Fontainebleau Palace Fountain. As always, her enthusiastic nature and our matching tutus turned our little Paris adventure into the perfect ballet fairytale. 💕
And just when I thought the magic couldn’t get any better, my day trip to the picturesque town of Versailles transported me into a fairytale! We were both blown away by the beauty of the palace and its magnificent gardens, a true spectacle of elegance and grace.
You know, walking around these iconic spots reminded me that true magic can be found in the most unexpected places - in a beautiful park, in a stunning cathedral, or in the energy of the city.
But this trip was about more than the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre – it was about discovering hidden Parisian gems. Walking the quiet streets of Montmartre, getting lost in the art studios nestled in the narrow backstreets, experiencing a café au lait and fresh croissants while gazing at the iconic Sacré-Coeur basilica – these little details added magic to every moment!
Remember darlings, the most important part of travel isn't the destinations, it's the memories we create. I'm back in England now, back in Derbyshire. The city life is fun, of course, but there's no place like home, in my tutu of course, until I can return to Paris once again! ✨
Now, time for my pink tutu practice. Who knows? Maybe, just maybe, next Saturday will see my next adventure unfold, perhaps closer to home - a new exciting project awaits! 🩰
But no matter where life takes me, I know there's one thing that will always stay true. Every single day can be an adventure, filled with passion, creativity, and the joy of twirling.
And you know, I might just have to bring a pink tutu to your neck of the woods! After all, my mission is to help everyone feel confident and graceful - just like a ballerina. 💖
