Bonjour mes amies! I'm so excited to be back in Paris! It truly is the city of dreams! I have to admit, the Eurostar ride over was an absolute delight, my very own "Tutu on Rails" adventure! Every click-clack of the train on the tracks just filled my heart with Parisian magic.
It's been quite a whirlwind this past week - my performances at the Derbyshire Dance Theatre have kept me on my toes (pun absolutely intended!), but it was all worth it, for the money to allow me to follow my other great passion... shopping!
And this trip, well, this one was dedicated entirely to indulging my sartorial whims. The sales in Paris, well let's just say, they were spectacular! And not just clothes, dear readers. Oh no! My darling tutu collection had a little make-over, I even found a couple of truly amazing vintage ones – think "Audrey Hepburn at the ballet" - absolutely gorgeous.
And talking of ballet, Paris is just brimming with magic when it comes to the art of dance. On Thursday night I went to see a breathtaking performance of Swan Lake at the Palais Garnier. The sheer artistry and passion in the performance was simply electrifying! It reminded me that the world truly comes alive with music and graceful movements - something my soul always feels. I left the theatre with that fluttering sensation in my chest, and I knew - just knew, that this Parisian trip was going to be a masterpiece!
This time around, I thought it would be so much fun to explore a different side of Parisian chic. Imagine a whimsical stroll along the Seine, a glass of pink lemonade in hand, and... oh! The most perfect, pink tutu ever! Of course, you don't just "wear" a pink tutu in Paris - you embrace it with flair! I picked the most Parisian spot, the Eiffel Tower of course, and twirled with abandon! I mean, who can resist that iconic view and the Eiffel Tower's majestic structure, bathed in a soft golden light? I took a thousand photos (okay, maybe not a thousand, but many!) – I'll be posting the most picture-perfect ones on my Pink Tutu Paris Instagram feed this week. You can find me at @PinkTutuBlog! Now, for the most important part – today is all about "Tutuing around" the City of Lights. I'm planning to start with a visit to the Grand Palais, which has a gorgeous ice rink at the moment, complete with an absolutely fabulous ballet performance, of course! (Who can resist a ballet on ice? I sure can't!).
But you know, Paris just has so much to offer. Whether I'm strolling through the charming streets of the Marais, sipping coffee in a cozy café (or should I say "a little tea" – I adore the sweet treats they have on offer in Paris!), or even just window-shopping at the fabulous designer boutiques on Avenue Montaigne – every moment is a fairytale, just waiting to be explored.
This city is such a beautiful inspiration for the pink tutu! I can't wait to see what treasures I find - from pink cashmere scarves to gorgeous pink roses in the flower stalls - Paris simply sparkles in pink.
And speaking of "sparkling", we simply must visit the famous Galeries Lafayette and the Printemps. Imagine - those glittering Christmas displays, all the shimmering decorations. The only thing that could make it more enchanting is… Well, you guessed it – a pink tutu! It's a must! Even my granny thinks so – she always tells me to take the opportunities to "make a splash" – it seems that, "getting a little daring," as she puts it, is more important to life than we realize, as we grow older.
I'm also going to make a quick stop at a vintage boutique to search for unique pink items, and I’ll be trying out one of the “TuTu’s and Cocktails” classes – you can guess what that involves. They say Paris has a special energy. This city really makes my soul shine - all the colours of my pink tutu dreams come alive here!
But enough about my travels for now, dear readers. I wouldn't want to bore you with the details (though I know I wouldn't bore YOU with any detail, right? ) My Parisian blog, dear readers, will be dedicated entirely to you and your fabulous taste!
