Pink Tutu Blog - Paris: Post #847 - Ooh La La!

Bonjour, my lovely pink-loving readers!

It’s Saturday, which means it’s time for another Paris post from your favourite pink-tutu wearing, ballet-obsessed blogger! This week, I’ve been in the City of Lights, embracing the culture and, of course, taking in as many fabulous performances and shows as possible!

My Parisian adventure began with a rather lovely Eurostar journey. The speed and comfort of these trains never ceases to amaze me – and of course, I had my signature pink tutu on. Let’s face it, who wouldn't travel in a tutu to Paris?! I've been getting some great responses and lots of stares - I like to think I'm brightening up the train journey for everyone!

Landing in Gare du Nord, I felt that familiar surge of excitement. The air buzzed with the thrill of discovery, and even the Parisian taxi drivers seemed to be a bit more dapper today! I checked into my lovely little hotel, a boutique treasure tucked away in a charming, cobbled street. The room is filled with light, with a vintage French charm I adore – even a tiny balcony with views across the rooftops!

But no time for admiring the view just yet, I had a very important date with Parisian fashion.

Parisian Fashion Frenzy: From Tutus to Chic

Let’s talk about shopping! Paris is like a haven for all things stylish. I spent a delightful afternoon flitting around the chic boutiques of the Marais district. Every store window was a dazzling spectacle of colours, textures, and designs.

I felt a little silly in my tutu, surrounded by fashionistas in their trendy Parisian attire, but everyone seemed to be very receptive to my bubbly, pink personality. The lovely assistant at the little vintage shop on Rue des Francs Bourgeois even commented that my tutu “added a certain je ne sais quoi” to the store! It made my day.

Of course, my pink tutu is a reminder that you can express your own unique style no matter what the trend is. Embrace it, celebrate it, and always be you!

The Theatre and Dance Magic

The next day was devoted to experiencing the magic of Parisian theatre. First up, I saw an enchanting ballet performance at the Opéra Garnier, one of the most magnificent theatres in the world! The opulent design, with its intricate mosaics and gilded decorations, simply took my breath away.

The dancers, with their incredible talent and grace, wove tales of love, tragedy, and triumph. I felt transported to another world, my pink tutu becoming a symbol of my joy and appreciation for the artistry.

And that evening, I was blown away by a beautiful street theatre performance in Montmartre. The performers were acrobats, jugglers, and musicians, creating a vibrant and whimsical atmosphere on the cobbled streets. It was such a fun way to end the day and get to know the heart of this beautiful city.

My Favourite Parisian Finds

Here’s a little sneak peek at some of my favourite finds from this trip so far:

  • Pink, fluffy croissant: This sugary delight is a Parisian must-have, especially with the vibrant pink icing I found at the local patisserie on Rue de la Victoire!
  • Tiny Parisian ballerina doll: This adorable, delicately made little ballerina doll in a white tutu now has pride of place on my dressing table! It reminds me of the wonderful ballet performance I witnessed earlier this week.
  • Vintage French book of poetry: While browsing a book store in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, I came across a beautiful antique poetry book, printed in exquisite calligraphy. It captures the romance and elegance of Paris perfectly.
Food, Fashion and More - Next Week's Paris Adventures

But my adventures in Paris are far from over! Next week, I’m looking forward to:

  • Exploring the vibrant Latin Quarter: This student-filled area promises a unique mix of history, culture, and vibrant energy. I plan on taking in a show at the Shakespeare & Company bookshop, a Parisian treasure trove of literature.
  • Trying some delicious street food at the Marche des Enfants Rouges: The oldest covered market in Paris, this culinary paradise is bursting with flavours and textures. I’m particularly intrigued by the idea of Parisian street crepe, maybe even with a bit of pink candy floss!
  • Visiting the Musée Rodin: A museum dedicated to the famous sculptor, Auguste Rodin, this is sure to inspire and captivate with the breathtaking sculptures that capture the beauty of the human form.

Until next week, darlings, stay happy, be brave, and remember:

Pink tutus can conquer the world!

Stay tuned, Emma
