It's Saturday morning, the sun is streaming through my hotel window, and the Parisian air smells divine - like freshly baked croissants and a touch of romance. It's time for another Parisian adventure, and I'm positively giddy with excitement. This week, the Pink Tutu is taking on the City of Lights - and yes, of course, I've packed a blush pink tutu (wouldn't dream of being in Paris without one!)
I arrived yesterday via EuroStar, which is always such a luxurious way to travel. Something about being whisked away from the grey skies of England to the grandeur of the Gare du Nord just fills me with pure joie de vivre. I settled into my charming little hotel, right in the heart of the Latin Quarter. Oh, the excitement! My suitcase overflowed with gorgeous ballet-inspired outfits, a touch of Parisian chic thrown in for good measure, and my trusty pink tutu, naturally. It's essential to always have your dance gear ready for an impromptu performance – one never knows when the Parisian streets might call for a flash mob!
Today's plan is packed with Parisian delights, a veritable feast for the senses! I'm starting the day with a delightful little escapade - a visit to the iconic Galeries Lafayette! Think haute couture, delectable pastries, and breathtaking views of the city. The sheer opulence of this Parisian landmark is enough to make any ballerina swoon! I'm also planning to do some serious window shopping (or shall we say, "tutu shopping?") and try to find some chic French fashion that complements my twirling tendencies. Who knows, maybe I'll even find the perfect accessory for my pink tutu – a sparkly brooch perhaps, or a beret adorned with feathers!
After a leisurely afternoon spent exploring the city's charming backstreets, indulging in some authentic French cuisine, and picking up a few souvenirs, I'm heading to the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées! This evening's ballet performance is "Giselle," and I'm positively brimming with anticipation. You see, Giselle is a masterpiece, a tale of love, heartbreak, and supernatural intrigue - perfect for a romantic Parisian night!

Parisian Delights: A Ballerina's Perspective (Saturday 2016-09-17)
So, my lovely readers, it's been a whirlwind day of Parisian adventures and I have to tell you, I'm utterly charmed. Let's start with the highlight - my trip to the Galeries Lafayette! The place is truly awe-inspiring, an architectural marvel. The soaring glass dome is like something out of a dream, and the abundance of luxurious goods was a treat for the eyes. My inner fashionista went into overdrive. Imagine: shelves and shelves of exquisite clothes, dazzling shoes, beautiful jewellery… all under the sparkling glow of the grand dome. It was quite a scene.
I admit I got a bit carried away with the charm of it all. And maybe, just maybe, I splurged on a beautiful silk scarf. In a divine shade of pink, naturally! It'll be a lovely addition to any tutu-based outfit, wouldn't you say?
After my whirlwind adventure at the Galeries, it was time to soak up some more Parisian ambience. I meandered through the Latin Quarter, a captivating maze of cobblestone streets and quaint little shops. It felt like stepping back in time, with charming brasseries buzzing with life and lively street performers filling the air with music.
One little shop, crammed with books and vintage treasures, particularly caught my eye. The shop owner, a lovely older woman with a warm smile, gave me a mini history lesson about the area. She told me stories of revolutionary poets, rebellious students, and of course, a good dose of Parisian romance.
Later that evening, it was off to the theatre. The anticipation in the air was electric as we awaited the curtain to rise on "Giselle." I felt a sense of wonder, a real connection to the artistic energy pulsating through the room. It wasn't just the ballet itself – although, "Giselle" is simply captivating! – but the whole experience of being in this legendary Parisian theatre. The building itself whispered with history and, well, I was positively transfixed!
The dancers, each with their own graceful stories to tell, mesmerized us with every elegant movement. I was so drawn into the drama and the beautiful story of "Giselle." Every single step resonated with a deep emotional connection – the ballerina’s passion was palpable. The music was magical. I even teared up at a few points!
Back in my charming hotel room, after all the excitement of the day, it’s the perfect moment to indulge in a little Parisian indulgence. A steaming cup of tea, some decadent chocolate, and a quick flick through the pages of a Parisian fashion magazine are my way of wrapping up another extraordinary day in this city that always keeps my heart aflutter.
