It's Saturday, the 5th of November 2016, and my Parisian adventures are well and truly underway. I just had to share all the wonderful things I've been up to this week. But before I delve into the details, let's rewind a little.
Journey of a Thousand Pink Tutus
After weeks of planning and excitement, it was finally time for my EuroStar trip to Paris! Yes, I took the train! What could be more charming than hurtling through the French countryside on a comfy train in a pink tutu? 🚄 I even brought my portable ballet barre with me for some mid-journey stretches! (Of course, I kept it discreetly behind the seat - no need to scare anyone!) 🩰
Arriving at Gare du Nord, my senses were flooded with that special Parisian energy - the scent of freshly baked croissants, the bustling atmosphere, the iconic buildings... I immediately felt right at home, like a ballerina landing gracefully in her own little Parisian ballet!
Fashion, Shopping, and… More Fashion!
Once I checked into my lovely boutique hotel - a secret find that's positively overflowing with Parisian charm - I went straight for my first shopping expedition. After all, a trip to Paris wouldn't be complete without some serious retail therapy, would it? 😉
My pink tutu, a little blush-hued masterpiece, of course, was the perfect companion for the day! 💃 I strolled through the bustling streets, dodging street performers (they were even more impressive in tutus than I am! 😅), exploring boutiques, and swooning over the window displays of iconic Parisian brands.
I snagged the most exquisite vintage lace top, a silky, sapphire blue blouse perfect for twirling, and a pair of chic black ballet flats that felt like little dancing companions for my feet. My heart did a little pirouette! 💖
Culture & Ballet Bliss
On Friday evening, I attended a performance at the majestic Opéra Garnier! 🏛️ I've always been a big fan of classical ballet, and witnessing it in this magnificent setting was just magical.
The dancers' grace, the opulent décor, the grandeur of the performance… it was a symphony for my eyes! The entire evening was pure enchantment. Seeing the world's greatest ballet dancers move with such effortless precision... It made my own tiny dance dreams seem that much more possible. ✨
Parisian Treats
No Parisian adventure is complete without indulging in all the delectable food! From croissants for breakfast (and lunch… and maybe even dinner 😉) to indulging in delicious pastries at a charming patisserie, to enjoying a perfectly brewed café au lait while watching the world go by at a Parisian cafe…
My taste buds were doing cartwheels, just like my feet! 😋 And yes, my tutus came with me for all of it.
Living La Vie en Rose
Honestly, it’s been the perfect week! Paris is everything I dreamed it would be: glamorous, romantic, and filled with inspiration. It's impossible not to fall in love with this city, and it’s certainly made me love my pink tutu even more! 💖
What makes my trip extra special, however, is how inspiring this city is. The beautiful architecture, the breathtaking museums, the art… it’s all just so beautiful! I've already taken several photos, capturing the Parisian ambiance, all to help me put together the most dazzling pink tutu looks inspired by the city of lights. 💡
