Pink Tutu Paris: Bonjour from the City of Lights! (Post #923)

Bonjour, darlings! It's Emma here, your favourite tutu-wearing, pink-obsessed, ballet-mad blogger, reporting live from the most magical city on Earth... Paris! I know, I know, you're probably thinking "Paris in September? What's the weather like?". Let me tell you, my loves, it's absolutely glorious! Crisp autumn air, golden sunshine dappling through the trees, and the most beautiful hues of crimson and gold on the leaves. It's like stepping into a watercolour painting!

But before we dive into the Parisian delights, let me tell you about my epic journey here. You see, I simply adore train travel! Something about the rhythmic clacking of the wheels, the endless vistas whizzing by, and the sense of anticipation...it just does something for me. So naturally, I took the Eurostar. The luxurious comfort, the delicious snacks, and the fact that I could stretch out and enjoy the view, oh, it was simply divine!

I arrived at Gare du Nord, feeling as though I was walking into a scene from a vintage Parisian movie. And guess what? I actually did! As soon as I stepped out onto the cobblestone street, a street performer started playing the accordion, the smell of freshly baked bread filled the air, and I even spotted a chic woman wearing a vintage fedora... Talk about fairytale vibes!

Speaking of fairytales, my dearest friends, Paris is teeming with them! Every cobblestone street, every grand building, every quaint café it all feels like a dream. And trust me, I'm not just saying that because I'm wearing my favourite blush pink tutu. Honestly, you all know how much I love ballet, and let me tell you, the feeling of being in a city that embodies both romance and grace, well, it’s enough to make any ballerina twirl with delight!

Speaking of delight, my week in Paris has been nothing short of spectacular. Today, my first Saturday in Paris, I started the day with a little breakfast at a charming cafe just around the corner from my Airbnb. Croissants, pain au chocolat, and a pot of coffee
what more could a girl ask for? Of course, I was feeling all kinds of Parisian chic with my blush pink tutu and my favourite lace beret, accessorized with a few delicate pearls. Just ask anyone, even a ballerina as petite as myself, can pull off Parisian style.

Then, after breakfast, it was off to explore the iconic Musée Rodin. Have you ever been to such a magical place? The sculptures, the gardens, the quiet atmosphere
It was a dream come true! The highlight for me, however, was a performance by the National Ballet of Paris in the stunning courtyard. I can’t describe the artistry! From the precise movements of the dancers to the haunting melodies of the music, I was completely entranced!

After a fabulous lunch, my day ended with a delightful ballet class at the École de Danse. Honestly, dancing in a beautiful, historic studio surrounded by aspiring dancers from all over the world, was absolutely inspiring! It made me realise just how important it is to share our love of ballet, whether it be by performing, taking class or simply watching in awe.

But Paris isn’t just about ballet, my dears! Let me tell you, this city is overflowing with beauty. Every corner reveals a new treasure – from the exquisite shops filled with vintage treasures and the chic boutiques displaying the latest fashion, to the breathtaking views from the Eiffel Tower and the enchanting atmosphere of the Seine River at sunset.

So, let’s get into the details of what I got up to

Tuesday - Tutu Shopping on the Champs-ÉlysĂ©es

Paris wouldn’t be complete without some serious fashion indulgence! So, of course, I had to explore the legendary Champs-ÉlysĂ©es, home to some of the world's most famous designers. Honestly, the sheer variety of gorgeous fabrics, luxurious materials, and jaw-dropping designs left me in awe.

However, my little pink heart was set on finding the perfect pink tutu. Let’s be honest, it’s an absolute necessity for a pink-tutu-loving blogger! After scouring a few chic boutiques, I stumbled upon a treasure - a vintage, light pink tutu with delicate lace embellishments, the colour was perfect! I felt like a princess, like a ballerina who had stepped straight out of a fairytale.

Of course, it would be a sin not to take advantage of Paris's world-renowned pastry shops. So, after my tutu discovery, I took a well-deserved break at Ladurée, that famous tea room known for its colourful macarons.

I sat there in my newly acquired pink tutu, sipping a cup of jasmine tea, while I indulged in those delicious, colourful little macaron wonders. What better way to celebrate the afternoon?

Thursday - The Ballet and a Dash of Parisian Chic

Thursday was all about ballet! After my amazing class on Wednesday, I couldn’t wait to catch a show. I made my way to the Paris Opera House, its grandeur and opulence simply took my breath away.

As I settled into my seat, anticipation built. It felt like being backstage just before the curtain rises. The music started, the lights dimmed, and a hush fell over the audience. And then the curtain rose, and we were transported to another world.

The choreography was breathtaking! Every dancer seemed to move with such fluidity, precision, and emotion. It was a powerful testament to the sheer artistry of ballet and its ability to captivate audiences worldwide.

And of course, no Paris visit would be complete without experiencing the chic atmosphere of a French café. After the ballet, I found myself in the perfect café: cozy, candlelit, with soft music and the aroma of coffee wafting through the air. It was the ideal spot to observe Parisian life and feel the rhythm of the city, and my day would not have been complete without indulging in a warm café au lait.

I must say, the Parisian experience truly transcends all expectations. The beauty, the charm, the vibrant culture... it's truly magical!

Friday - Exploring Montmartre and Feeling Like a Parisienne

On Friday, I set off to explore the bohemian Montmartre district. Cobblestone streets winding up hills, vibrant art galleries showcasing incredible local talent, and an infectious energy filling the air. This was my Parisian dreamland!

To make the moment truly Parisian, I decided to channel my inner Parisian chic. I slipped on a beret and my favorite blush pink tweed jacket (a vintage find from the Champs-ÉlysĂ©es) and finished the look with my blush pink tutu of course, which added a touch of playful charm.

Honestly, exploring Montmartre, wearing my chic tutu and the charming Parisian attire, and soaking up the artistic vibes, made me feel like I was part of the Montmartre art scene, and it felt simply magical.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention... I also met this charming Parisian street artist who took a beautiful photo of me and even let me take a turn with his pastel chalks! It's safe to say I was a natural
and it’s safe to say that Montmartre brought out my inner creative spirit!

A Quick Reflection on My Tutu Parisian Adventures

It’s so crazy how quickly my week in Paris has flown by! From exploring the Louvre’s exquisite collection of art, to strolling along the picturesque banks of the Seine at sunset, it has been the perfect mix of adventure, culture, and Parisian charm.

Of course, it wouldn't be a true "Pink Tutu Paris" adventure without the inclusion of a little tutu magic. From shopping for my new favourite pink tutu at a Parisian boutique, to performing ballet with fellow dancers in the historic École de Danse and even, the delightful afternoon in Montmartre, every day has been infused with a dash of pink-tutu whimsy.
