Pink Tutu Travels: Paris, My Darling! (Post #989)
Bonjour, mes amis!
This week, I'm waltzing into Paris from the comfort of my favourite carriage on the Eurostar. Swoon I just love the romance of train travel. Thereās something magical about gliding through the countryside, gazing out at the world from a window with a good book in hand (or in my case, a well-worn copy of Swan Lake), and arriving in a brand new city, all with a twinkle in your eye and a feather in your hat (or in my case, a sparkly tutu!).
Iām back in Paris after what feels like far too long, and this time Iām determined to take on the city at my own pace. No packed schedules or frantic tours for this tutu-clad adventurer. Itās all about embracing the Parisian vibe, which for me is about leisurely strolls along cobblestone streets, indulging in freshly baked croissants (oh, those flaky layers!) and discovering hidden gems in chic boutiques.
And yes, I do always look out for shops with an impressive selection of pinkā¦it's almost a reflex at this point, my dear readers! After all, who can resist a touch of fuchsia amidst the elegance of Paris? I have a little confession - my current Paris fashion goals are entirely inspired by the stunning ballet costumes. Iāve been eyeing up the exquisite craftsmanship in every performance, and have to admit that some serious fabric inspiration has been sneaking its way into my sketchbook. Perhaps a delicate pink tulle skirt with intricate embroidery would be perfect for exploring the Latin Quarter? Or a dramatic flowing gown in a vibrant cerise for strolling through the Louvre? Dreamily swirls in my pink tulle
As you may know, this weekend, the world famous OpƩra Garnier is showcasing Giselle. My oh my, that iconic white tutu! It is breathtakingly beautiful! For this very special occasion, I'll be swirling with grace, soaking in the exquisite performances. And I just might have to snag a souvenir for my dance studio. My ballet-loving heart flutters just thinking about the Parisian elegance!
And speaking of performancesā¦donāt forget! This is the weekend of the famous Folies BergĆØre! My inner fashionista is screaming with excitement - the showstoppers will be a whirlwind of feathers, sequins, and dazzling dance routines, guaranteed to be a dazzling sight to behold. If I wasnāt on a quest to find the ultimate pink tulle creation (and have my mind firmly set on ballet rehearsals!), I would be whisked away to see a magical spectacle of costume designs!
The rest of my weekend is dedicated to whimsy and wonder, as is often the case! There's something truly captivating about Paris that allows my inner ballerina to leap with joy. My to-do list is full of all the Parisian must-dos, all with a playful pink twist!
- Afternoon Tea & Twirling: I simply can't resist an afternoon tea. A traditional afternoon tea is a must! Who doesnāt love finger sandwiches, sweet treats, and freshly brewed tea, enjoyed with a stunning view of the Seine?
- Bookstore Browsing: This week, I will wander through charming Parisian bookshops searching for a vintage ballet book. The crisp scent of old paper, the rows upon rows of beautifully bound editions, the promise of new adventures, oh I adore those book stores!
- Exploring Galleries & Fashion Houses: Paris is an art lover's dream, especially for me! The iconic galleries, renowned designers, and artistic masterpieces are just begging to be explored!
- Gourmet Indulgence: No trip to Paris is complete without savoring delicious, Parisian pastries! Be it flaky croissants, macarons in all their sugary glory, or indulging in rich chocolate... Paris never fails to delight the palate.
And as the sun dips low over the Seine and illuminates the city's majestic skyline, Iāll be reminiscing about all the fabulous adventures this week. I already know this weekend in Paris will be one of those āpinch-meā moments ā the ones that you replay in your mind and reminisce over for weeks to come.
Until next week, dear readers! And donāt forgetā¦ Pink tutus for everyone!
Bisous bisous,
Emma.
