#PinkTutuBlogParis - Post #1050: Paris, Je T'aime! (And I've Got a New Tutu)
Bonjour, my darlings!
The train has just pulled into Gare du Nord, and I am officially in Paris! The journey on the Eurostar was utterly delightful, I can't help but adore the feeling of gliding through the English Channel, the scenery rushing past my window in a blur of green fields and white chalk cliffs. And of course, no trip is complete without a little pink tulle in the mix - my travelling tutu was a gorgeous shade of blush pink, a perfect match for the delicate blooms popping out everywhere in Derbyshire as I departed.
As I stepped out of the station, my eyes were instantly met with the majesty of Parisian architecture – I simply cannot get enough of the elegant haussmannian buildings. This trip, I’m determined to uncover a new secret Parisian gem, perhaps a hidden courtyard, or a charming café tucked away on a cobblestone street.
Speaking of charming, Paris truly is a city for lovers - a sentiment beautifully embodied by the vibrant colour palette, the intoxicating aroma of freshly baked croissants (which I already devoured two of - don't judge!), and the sweet sounds of the street performers. Just the thought of a Parisian picnic on a sun-drenched afternoon, nestled amongst the foliage of Luxembourg Gardens, is enough to make my heart sing!
This weekend, my darlings, promises to be an absolute delight! It’s brimming with fabulous ballet opportunities – not one but two shows! I simply can't resist a trip to the Opéra Garnier, where I will be indulging in a performance of the most magical ballet of all time - Swan Lake! I can't wait to be swept away by the tragic love story and to lose myself in the captivating grace of the dancers.
Later on, I will be experiencing the vibrant energy of Ballet Preljocaj's contemporary performance of Blanche Neige - an edgy reimagining of the classic fairy tale that's sure to be a thrilling adventure for my senses. What’s even better, Blanche Neige will be held in the elegant setting of Théâtre National de Chaillot - one of the city’s architectural jewels.
Between ballet, my agenda is bursting with Parisian pursuits. First stop – a boutique shopping spree! I've got my eye on a dreamy vintage dress to add to my wardrobe. This city is just bursting with sartorial treasures. After that, a stop for some delicious crêpes – with a side of people watching of course.
It wouldn't be a Parisian adventure without a visit to the Musée du Louvre - a must-do for any art enthusiast. I can't wait to stand before the Mona Lisa and be lost in her enigmatic smile.
On my schedule this Saturday, darling, is also a stroll down the iconic Champs-Élysées. Imagine a beautiful walk through Parisian streets, taking in the stunning architecture and glamorous shops, a touch of pink tulle swirling around my legs, sunshine illuminating my rosy cheeks – I couldn't ask for a better way to spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
Remember my darlings, my mission is simple: make the world a pinker, twirlier, more joyous place. And for me, that starts with my travels. As I embark on this exciting adventure, my dear pink tutu serves as a symbol of my vibrant spirit – a joyful reminder of my love for life and my desire to spread a bit of whimsy wherever I go. And you know what, you don't need a tutu to join me! Just find your own version of pink tulle - your passion, your joy, your dream. And wear it proudly.
Stay tuned, darlings! My Parisian adventures are just getting started. Don’t forget to visit me on my blog www.pink-tutu.com, every Saturday, for a peek into my whimsical world!
Yours in tulle and smiles,
Emma
