Bonjour, my lovelies! It's Emma here, back from the most magical trip to Paris! Oh, it was simply divine. This city, it's just... well, you know. Everything's more elegant, more romantic, and dare I say, more pink in Paris. Let me tell you, the Eiffel Tower looks absolutely glorious dusted in the soft pink glow of sunset!
So, as you all know, I'm a big fan of travelling by train. Especially the Eurostar. It’s so chic! A big comfy seat, some champagne, a cheeky little chocolate, and voilà - you're in Paris in just a few short hours! Who needs planes, honestly?
Paris, A City Of Tutus!
Now, I know what you're thinking: "But Emma, tutus and Paris - what does that have to do with anything?" Well, darling, let me tell you! Firstly, there's just something about Paris that screams tutus, don't you think? The architecture, the cobbled streets, the cafes, even the street signs feel like they're set in a vintage ballet. I practically felt compelled to twirl down every street, tutus swishing around me like a sugary cloud!
Secondly, Paris is a ballet-lover's dream. You have the Palais Garnier - a breathtakingly beautiful opera house and home to the famous Paris Opera Ballet. You have incredible dance schools, gorgeous dancewear boutiques, and just an overall sense of elegance and poise. I just feel at home in Paris, truly. It's the ballet, you know? The history, the fashion, it's all interwoven in a glorious tapestry.
Paris Fashion Week - The ultimate inspiration
You know how much I love clothes shopping! I've mentioned before that I fund my travels by performing at ballets, so, the fashion side of things, is also pretty close to my heart! This trip I went to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and visited the "Fashion Forward: The Age of The Model" exhibit. You wouldn’t believe the vintage dresses and hats I saw, wow! Paris is the fashion capital of the world and even visiting an exhibition, the city makes you feel empowered! If you haven't already, do head over to my other blog, “Pink Tutu Style” (the link’s at the end of this post!), I'll be writing about the best shops to visit in the City of Light!
Dancing In The City of Lights
This week in Paris has been extra special because the Paris Opera Ballet are performing Giselle at the Palais Garnier. I just had to go! It was pure perfection. Every ballerina was incredible, especially the soloists. Their technique, their expressions, and their elegant costumes. It was pure magic.
And to top it all off, I got to catch a ballet class at the legendary École de Danse de l'Opéra de Paris. I know, it's a big one! Imagine being in the very same studio where countless stars have trained. It was such an honor! It's funny, when I was taking the class, it felt as though the space had a special energy, like a place full of ghosts of famous ballerinas who once twirled where I stood.
This Is How We Do It In Paris
If you're a fan of the pink tutu, darling, you HAVE to visit Paris! It's truly a dream come true for this ballerina girl. It's so easy to get swept up in the city's charm. Everywhere you turn there's history, art, and beauty. You can’t leave without picking up a beret, having a cup of coffee at a quaint café on the street and eating pain au chocolat (with a pink icing sugar!) of course! You know you will feel magical as you stroll around the streets! And the people! The Parisians are so stylish, chic, and cool.
This city has been an inspiration to me in so many ways. I think I'll even bring my pink tutu with me next time, and we'll try and find a place to have a proper, Parisian tutu-twirling photo shoot! Oh, wouldn’t that be something.
