Pink Tutu Blog Paris: #1390 - Ooh La La! Parisian Pinkness

Bonjour, my darlings! It’s Emma here, your favourite pink tutu-wearing, ballet-obsessed travel blogger, and this week, I’m whisking you away to the most magical city in the world – Paris!

Remember those delicious croissants and baguettes I promised? Well, my darling, let me tell you, the reality is even more heavenly!

I arrived in Paris by EuroStar on Tuesday, and it was just like stepping into a film! The train was so smooth and comfy, I practically fell asleep in my tutu – just as well I wasn't wearing a sparkly one or I'd have woken up with my skirt resembling tinsel. Anyway, arriving at Gare du Nord felt like a scene from ‘Amélie’, the air practically fizzing with romance and the delicious scent of freshly baked bread. I already knew this trip would be spectacular.

And so it was, my dears. Paris has lived up to its every Parisian fairytale, especially for someone with a sweet tooth as acute as mine! The city was all about dainty pastries, oh-so-chic boutiques, and stunning architecture, and I practically giggled with glee as I walked past the Eiffel Tower, a tiny pink speck in the grandeur of this iconic city.

Tuesday’s ballet class: I kicked off my Parisian adventure with a ballet class at the glorious Palais Garnier. It’s a majestic building, with ornate décor, the perfect backdrop for perfecting my arabesques. Afterwards, I indulged in a well-deserved patisserie on the way back to my little Airbnb – don’t tell my dance teacher but I had an éclair for breakfast, too!

Wednesday – Pink power on the Champs-Élysées: As you all know, Paris is the fashion capital of the world, so I simply had to unleash my inner Parisian fashionista and do a little window shopping! You would be amazed how many stores on the Champs-Élysées were showing beautiful tutus, and although it's a bit too cold to wear my pink tulle in Paris in August, I did find the most exquisite black lace and tulle gown - so fabulous for my upcoming performances at home.

Thursday’s ballet experience: After the thrill of a ‘Don Quixote’ ballet at the Opéra Garnier on Thursday, I was in awe of the skill of these dancers, my little toes were aching in empathy for theirs. But oh my goodness, their graceful moves made every aching muscle worth it. We enjoyed a picnic near the Louvre later, surrounded by laughter and the beautiful architecture of the city. There's no feeling quite like it, darling, enjoying the finer things in life.

Friday’s fabulous fashion: Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to Paris without a visit to a famous designer boutique, now would it? On Friday, I had the pleasure of perusing the collections at Chanel - a must-do for any stylish soul! You can’t go wrong with Chanel. The pink tweed jacket and dress on display just about made me squeal – if only I'd had more money! I still had a delightful lunch at a cute little French café overlooking the Seine though, and there are few better ways to end a day of fashion gazing than with a glass of French rosé and delicious quiche.

Saturday: Culture, coffee, and cakes

And finally, my dears, we reach today, the glorious Saturday when I can share my Paris experience with you all! I had my morning cuppa at a Parisian café. The French understand the art of a well-crafted café au lait and perfectly flaky croissant - my cup was so delicate, so elegant!

The highlight of today has been exploring the Musée d’Orsay. The impressionist collection truly inspires! Oh, and for lunch, I had the best French onion soup – divine! I topped it off with the perfect slice of decadent chocolate cake – simply heavenly!

My mission to spread the joy of the pink tutu As much as I loved soaking up the Parisian culture, shopping for fabulous clothes, and having all those exquisite pastries, my mission is to get the world embracing the joy and the magic of wearing a pink tutu. And in true pink tutu style, my latest Paris adventures were, of course, tinged with pink! Everywhere I go, I always make a point of adding a little pink magic to the scenery – it's not just about clothes. I've found the most divine pink-tinged bougainvillaea trailing across charming buildings, and the blush of dawn and dusk painted the skies every day - it's like the city has been touched by fairy dust.

If Paris has taught me anything, it's that there's something undeniably enchanting about letting your pinkness shine!

What to expect in next week’s blog post

Well, darlings, the trip isn’t over yet! Next week, I’ll be talking all about my Parisian ballet explorations and my adventures in a little pink beret, so stay tuned to www.pink-tutu.com next Saturday! And remember to spread the pink tutu joy, because there's always a reason to twirl, smile, and let your inner ballerina shine. Au revoir!
