Prague: A Whirlwind of Romance and Rosy Hues (Post #106)

Darling readers!

It's Wednesday, the day I share my Parisian-inspired wanderlust with you. So, settle in with a cup of your favourite chamomile tea and a delicate biscuit, because I'm taking you on a pink-hued journey to Prague, the "City of a Hundred Spires."

My heart beats a little faster when I think about Prague. It's a place steeped in history and charm, with cobbled streets and bridges whispering tales of bygone eras. Imagine cobbled streets with twinkling lamps, echoing with the sounds of violinists and accordion players.

You see, darling, Prague is not just about the castles and bridges; it's about the stories hidden in every corner. It's the feeling of stepping back in time, a sense of magic in the air that only Prague can conjure.

From Derbyshire to Prague

This trip is a little different, however. I arrived via a delightful train journey, feeling a slight thrill of excitement at leaving my usual trainline and venturing towards a continent I have long dreamt of visiting. A delightful carriage attendant kindly took my enormous suitcase, filled to the brim with all my lovely tutus and the most stylish outfits from London's Harrods. And don't even get me started on the exquisite handmade lavender soaps from a little artisan shop in Derbyshire that I gifted my fellow travellers.

Ballet's Charm in Prague

Oh, the wonder of Prague! My ballet-loving heart is practically skipping. Prague is a city buzzing with cultural treasures, especially when it comes to ballet.

As I'm writing this, I'm at a small cafĂ© by the Charles Bridge. The smell of warm pastries, the clinking of glasses, and the music in the air – it’s enchanting!

Today, darling, I had the privilege of attending the ballet “The Nutcracker” at the Estates Theatre. I was absolutely enchanted!

  • This theatre is beautiful, it’s built in baroque style, and adorned with exquisite frescos. The grand chandeliers shimmered as the music began, filling the air with magic and whimsy.

  • This wasn’t just your typical “Nutcracker,” darling, it had this touch of Prague flair. You could see the stories of Czech history intertwined with the traditional elements of the tale, creating something incredibly unique and captivating.

Discovering Fashion's Jewels

You know, darling, my travels are always fuelled by my passion for fashion! This afternoon, I found a wonderful boutique nestled away in one of Prague’s narrow streets, crammed with treasures of clothing, shoes, and accessories, and a sweet smell of leather and linen in the air. I emerged with a divine velvet burgundy bolero, perfect for my evenings in Prague, and an exquisite silk scarf with swirling patterns, both of which will be the perfect finishing touches for the enchanting evening shows I’m hoping to attend!

Beyond the City

As I ventured into Prague, I found a pony to hire. There are always surprises in the most magical corners of this city. The stables, housed in an ancient, grand stable complex with magnificent stained-glass windows, offered me a chance to travel out into the stunning countryside. As we trotted through the countryside, we passed stunningly beautiful castles, churches and meadows dotted with quaint farmhouses. I saw families out walking, picnics on blankets with beautiful views, and couples sharing intimate walks. I knew in this moment that it's not just the city that charms, it’s the magic in its everyday life, the little things that create the sense of enchantment that is Prague.

A Day Filled with the Pinkest Hues

My trip has been an incredible journey filled with a tapestry of pink moments – I discovered the cutest little tea room, perfect for afternoon tea and scones (of course, served on pink china). There was a whole display of pretty floral printed fabric and silk materials in shades of lavender, pinks and peach in the textile shop around the corner – enough to inspire ten new outfits, at least! Even the architecture is beautifully painted with pastel pink highlights. There's even a shop entirely dedicated to all things pink - from pink dresses to pink jewellery. The shop owner assured me that “Every woman needs a touch of pink in their life, darling!”. And, you know what? She's right.

Pink Tutus in Prague

My dream of making pink tutus mainstream is alive and well, darling! The people here embrace creativity and expression, and the city has a definite flair for the artistic and theatrical. Today, I even encountered a group of artists performing on a street corner. Their dance, with beautiful costumes in soft pastel hues, had passers-by completely enthralled! Imagine the smiles, the clapping, and the wonder! That's the spirit of Prague! I could only picture how the city would embrace my own performance – if I were only brave enough!

Finding my Pink Paradise

Darling, as the sun sets, painting the city with a rosy glow, I can't help but feel this place has already woven its magic around my heart. Prague, you’re a dream in pink!

Till Next Time!

Don’t forget to join me next week, as I delve further into this captivating city! Until then, remember: Embrace the beauty in everyday life.

Emma
